An excellent network diagramming tool

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I am using Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite to create network diagrams. It's a simple need but surprising how difficult it can be to find a program - free or paid to do this. We are a small organization and the network diagrams are not complicated. But we definitely need them. I had looked at a few programs before I found Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite. My needs were for a program that allowed me to create these diagrams quickly and simply. Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite was the most intuitive program I've found. It's great IMHO.

Pros

  • It's simple and intuitive to use. I rarely had to consult the documentation.
  • It includes templates, several in fact, and help you get started quickly. No need to reinvent the wheel if someone has already created it.
  • Without a lot of effort you can use Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite to create great looking documents.

Cons

  • It was hard figuring out how to change the paper size.
  • I never did figure out how to modify some template objects e.g. change color.
  • I ended up having to purchase the full package to get all the templates I needed. But it was minimal.

Return on Investment

  • I have needed to create/update my network diagrams. I have been with the company for 18 years. A lot can happen in that time.
  • I just can't afford to spend time on documentation. I'm too busy taking care of my customers.

A Review on Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite to prepare my club mapping documents while collaborating with my peers. Using Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite, I and my team collaborate in sessions to discuss and brainstorm the situations and scenarios to finalise the work and development document. all our ideas and discussions were done under a single platform

Pros

  • Documents are prepared using by collaborating with me peers.
  • Doing brainstorming is pretty simple with a team.
  • All the details are kept under one workspace, which is easy to access & have an idea about.

Cons

  • The UI of the Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite can be improved
  • The administration has a limitation, which is a drawback.
  • It lags sometimes or becomes dead slow suddenly.

Return on Investment

  • Time is saved
  • The clear outcomes on what need to be done
  • Productivity is good than expected.

Intuitive platform that makes it easy to document processes across teams.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Lucid to document complex internal operational processes and marketing funnels. Lucid makes it really easy to share and collaborate with the full spectrum of users, from C-suite execs to power users. The Lucid charts that we create span across cross-functional teams. Personally, I use it to organize my thoughts while brainstorming, too.

Pros

  • Really easy to maneuver the interface and build fast.
  • "Smart" building that keeps visuals organized and clean.
  • A variety of visual tools available at my disposal.

Cons

  • The AI builder doesn't spit out exactly what I'm thinking of, even with detailed prompting and reprompting.
  • The formatter for text size, color, and alignment can be cumbersome to use since it's in a tiny toolbar.
  • Built-in shortcuts are accidentally triggered all the time (e.g., double-clicking creates a sticky note).

Return on Investment

  • Improved communications cross-functionally.
  • Improved communications.
  • Internal wiki.

Strong for Architecture Collaboration and Fast Team Alignment.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I have used Lucid for a few good years, and I loved it from the first try, and how it evolved over time. It helps us massively as a team; we collaborate, we turn ideas into designs, integration diagrams, process flows, etc. Embedding diagrams into Confluence helps a lot. Started to try the AI element of Lucid, and I am impressed by how good it is.

Pros

  • turning rough ideas into a visualization.
  • Brainstorming, workshop sessions.
  • Cross-team alignment and collaboration.

Cons

  • Exports to PDF sometimes look off.

Return on Investment

  • Time saved is the number 1 positive impact.
  • The time saved translates into ROI; our consultants spent less time on design, enabling us to move quickly into the development phase.
  • Improved dev ops productivity.

Review on Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

To make workflows of the teams. How teams operate and their functioning. If we want to collaborate between teams, it becomes very difficult to explain everyone or each team how other teams operate. So we create a workflow between teams for collaboration. I had requested a Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite from a team i wanted to understand the working of. So they made me a workflow on Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite. It was so easy to understand then.

Pros

  • Workflow
  • Flow Diagrams

Cons

  • Colours
  • Tooltips to help understand how to operate
  • AI integration for automated workflows building on prompt

Return on Investment

  • Improve Productivity
  • Helped understanding data flows
  • Saved times and repeated contacting the other teams for understanding the flow
