ManageEngine's DataSecurity Plus is a software solution to help users find, analyze, and track sensitive personal data—also known as PII/ePHI— residing in Windows file servers and failover clusters.

Capabilities include:
File server auditing with DataSecurity Plus- monitors, alert, and report on all file accesses and modifications made across your Windows file server, failover cluster, and workgroup environments.

Data leak prevention-detects, disrupt, and prevent sensitive data leaks via endpoints, i.e., USBs, email, print, and more through real-time security monitoring. Data risk assessment --locates sensitive data and will analyze its vulnerability with data risk assessment and classifies files based on their sensitivity, and ensure they're provided the necessary protection. File analysis- the ability to perform metadata analysis, spot file security vulnerabilities, analyze and optimize file storage. Providing Cloud protection--tracks organization web traffic, and enforces policies to safeguard employees against inappropriate or malicious web content.

Data visibility and security protections in one package--- two-pronged solution to fight insider threats, preventing data loss, and meeting compliance requirements.

We use ManageEngine Data Security Plus to track changes to a number of publicly shared folders on multiple file servers. We also use the software to track personal information embedded within various file formats to ensure there are no clear text PII within those files.
  • Track file creations and modifications.
  • Track disk space for filesystems monitored.
  • Identify junk files.

  • Track file content for binary files such as Excel.

Manage Engine Data Security Plus is very capable of tracking modifications to specified files within fileservers. This specific part is easy to set up and control. It also is able to easily identify "junk" files which can then be addressed with the end-user. Setup for risk analysis can use some improvement.
