I have used Oracle for more than 20 years, on-premise and cloud. The functionality keeps reducing and the user interface is becoming more un-friendly for users. The basics, which are an asset for Oracle, are disappearing.
  • Administration
  • Finance module
  • User interface
  • Reporting
  • Please work on enhancing while keeping user experience and user interface a priority
It's good for financials but needs improvement in manufacturing and procurement space on the cloud.

Oracle ERP Cloud is only being used in the financial services department which services the entire organization.
  • Storage of back-up or supporting schedules/audit-ready.
  • Easily accessible.
  • Slow.
  • Unable to batch upload schedules or perform many entries at once without customization.
Great for distributed teams. It has great flexibility - can do automation for many recurring functions. However, it's expensive for a small organization and many features need customization.

ERP Cloud is being used by our HR Department.
  • I maintain the hierarchy values and creating values is simple and finding values is simple.
  • A nice feature is having a draft hierarchy when preparing for the new year. Downside is duel maintenance.
  • I don't find it is user friendly. I maintain the value sets in both EBS & ERP Cloud. To get to the forms I need it takes more steps. I miss the top ten list that I use in EBS.
  • The cross validation rules are better that it is an inclusion but more maintenance when adding a new value.
  • I am not a fan of the hierarchies. In EBS we create a range for our accounts and a new account once added to the value set is now in the hierarchy. In the Cloud you have to save the hierarchy, update and then audit the new hierarchy, end-date the old and set the new one to active. I find this to be too many steps.
Preparing for the new year is a challenge when having new values that need to be added to Oracle. The working draft hierarchies is a nice feature.

We currently use Oracle ERP in our supply chain finance dept. I am also sure it is being used across all finance functions at the company. Right now it is a great tool to help address the consolidation of our financial reporting, as well as helping the overall team with the reconciliation of our finances.
  • Consolidated oversight of financial reporting.
  • Reporting of finances.
  • A great UI interface for helping onboard new analysts.
  • The complexity of adding new users.
  • There are very old processes of adding in new capabilities.
  • It's hard to integrate with other tools.
We had a situation where the cloud platform was helpful in consolidating all reporting needs across multiple functions and job roles, which is often hard to do in a large enterprise organization where there are multiple users and permission levels. It would be better suited for an option where there are fewer permission levels.

Although we are just getting started with using Oracle ERP Cloud, we plan using it for all of government to help us deliver services to citizens more efficiently and to gain valuable information that drives decisions. We're in the design phase and have seen some training. These trainings have gone well. We're working with a consultant from Oracle to get their Oracle university training in person. Next is planning the rest of our implementation.
  • It's designed with very good alignment to business processes and business process frameworks used in government such as APQC.
  • Implementation activities are well defined to the lowest level of detail, this we've found to help us prepare what we need for a successful implementation.
  • From what we've seen so far, it looks like the process to close is a strength that we are looking forward to adopting to streamline our reporting processes.
  • We've not had a chance to explore any pain points or areas for improvement yet.
Oracle ERP Cloud appears to be well suited for organizations that have strict reporting requirements and accountability. In addition, the rapid implementation options make it well suited for organizations looking to get a minimum viable product (MVP) out the door quickly while leaving room for continuous improvement. I can't think of a scenario where it is not appropriate. However, some small businesses may not require all the functionality it provides which could be confusing for them.

Oracle ERP is replacing 3 accounting systems. OFSAA is replacing the enterprise data master. The biggest benefit is to standardize data and source finance, treasury, and risk information from the same source. Oracle won out over SAP due to its penetration in the financial services industry. We did not feel that SAP bank analyzer was as mature or supported although it was less expensive. Cloud was selected to diversify infrastructure and reduce the dependency on IT operations.
  • Ability to scale and no fear of hitting constraints within the infrastructure.
  • Coordination of cloud and solution so future upgrades are accommodated and the knowledge that development will be spread across banking clients (compliance changes).
  • Forcing us to standardize to the dataset and stay as close to pure OFSAA as possible rather than recreating the legacy system.
  • The financial services data model shows its roots in the legacy FSDW and FSDF. The model is biased for the monthly closing process and needed updates for daily positions, rates, and prices (for FRTB and ALM).
  • Rating information is limited in OFSAA. It stores one rating. We need ratings from 3-4 agencies, rating data, original rating at the time of underwriting or onboarding, last rating, and the rating change date forever. That is 12 to 16 ratings.
Oracle ERP is well suited for environments were no legacy infrastructure needs to be saved. The pre-defined data model and functionality is a good framework for modeling an FS finance function. OFSAA is well suited to hosting enterprise data as well. It is not easily implemented out of the box and requires higher integration fees but gives you more flexibility and accessibility at the end.

Oracle ERP Cloud is being used by our Corporate Accounting department and IT department.
  • No database administrators required.
  • Cloning environments is easy.
  • Performance in Payables and Purchasing module.
  • ADFDI and FBDI functionality can be improved.
Oracle ERP Cloud is suited well for our IT and Finance department as it combines all the financial information into one application. Areas where it is not suited well are mostly on the reporting side because OTBI doesn't allow cross-module/subject area reporting.

It is used across the organization taking care of all company needs. We are using Oracle Cloud because it makes things much easier to maintain and support instead of having the applications on-premises. The cost of maintaining is very good compared to the on-premises tool. We are happy with the service.
  • Easy to maintain: Currently, our team is maintaining user access and migrations, and enhancements of these areas.
  • No on-premise liability: We don't do patches internally, everything is done through Oracle Cloud.
  • It is very user-friendly. A minute's training is all that's needed for a user to work with ERP Cloud. Other products require a lot more training. It's more simple and easy than other ERP solutions.
  • It's still in the budding stages. There are lots of utilities within Oracle products, but not all of them are available within ERP cloud.
  • If you want to do changes or enhancements, we cannot do it ourselves. We have to make a request for Oracle to make all the changes.
  • It's costly.
  • The product is new so there are not very many good implementers on the market yet.
Oracle ERP Cloud can reduce the cost of on-premise expenses. It's easy for everyone to get trained, and it's well integrated with many existing applications. Oracle support is really good for setting up the application and handles all the issues with the SR.

Oracle ERP Cloud is used for financial reporting, accounts payable and reconciliation, and project management. Most of the problems are just performance-related.
  • With SSO enabled, users can easily sign in without remembering another password.
  • Spreadsheet upload to input large data sets saves a lot of time
  • Allowed us to use many modules under one "roof".
  • Approval rules seem to either break or have to re-enabled after quarterly patch bundles.
  • Some pop-up screens for data selection cannot be resized and make it difficult to read what you are selecting.
  • Navigation pages within the same module in different sections sometimes looks and behaves very different.
Single sign on works well, but performance sometimes lags, especially during peak usage.

Currently it is being utilized by our Supply Chain Management and Finance groups. Supply Chain uses it mainly to track production throughout our manufacturing processes. Since we have many outsource commercial manufacturing organizations it is important to know which of our goods are at each location, and also the quantities of each on hand. We also like the visibility into each organization to see down to each lot level of each stock keeping unit we have. We also use it to create and maintain new purchase orders. This helps us give clarity into which accounts are being hit for each work order that is being performed by a vendor. It also is helpful in seeing how much money is left on a purchase order, and to see each specific invoices have been processed. This leads into where finance also works with procurement module because they approve and create each purchase order. They also use it for cost accounting but I am not an accountant and do not know the specifics behind that. We are also beginning to move towards implementing our own manufacturing module and demand planning.
  • Gives visibility into where all of various SKUs are, and the quantity of them. Given we have over 15 contracted manufacturers it is very useful to access their inventories in one module (Inventory Management).
  • Procurement allows for easy and effective ways to create new purchase orders, with the ease of entering requisitions and the efficiency of the approval process to form actual purchase orders to send out to vendors.
  • Automatically captures the cost of a contracted manufacturer performing a production service for my company.
  • There are often times there is an error while I am trying to complete a transaction, and the error message does not clearly explain what there error is, and I have to contact IT to figure it out.
  • When a lot is in quarantine status and you try to use it in a "miscallaneous transaction" in the inventory management module it does not show up in the lot space, you have to go back through "manage lots" to change it to active and then restart the process.
  • Exporting certain reports to excel can occassionally take a very long time.
When there was a manufacturing error at one of our contracted manufacturing organizations it was easy to track through the system which lots were affected. This was vital because it was an error in one of our drug product batches, which gets fed into many other batches of "sachets" our drug is sold in. Instead of having to go through 100s of pages of batch records we were able to use Oracle to see which had been affected.

We use Oracle ERP Cloud for our Finance, Billing, Taxation, Financial Governance and Business Intelligence Reporting. I am responsible for implementing this software for our India and Middle East offices. I also manage our relationship with Oracle globally, so I'm giving feedback with their team regularly. I browse the system for new features to make sure I understand what is available to my whole company and how we can be implementing everything to best benefit our company.
  • UX that is built for business users and not IT professionals.
  • Built-in smart BI for easy reporting and intelligence. Tons of seeded reports, no need for customization.
  • Improves business users productivity by providing data, advice and dashboards.
  • Easy integration possibilities with third party systems.
  • Virtual Assistance in "Avatar" to provide guidance to business users on "today's task/focus" etc.
  • Business workflows like "Bill to Cash" on home page UX.
  • Bundle a few EPM products like Account reconciliation in ERP Cloud.
Well suited for multi-organization, multi-currency, complex financial processes and if you need automation in integrating data from other systems. Suited when you want to provide decision making dashboards to business users right out of the system.

Not well suited for a very small company (<500 employees).

It is used for accounting applications and reporting and analytics. It helps us in addressing various business problems which are mainly catered to business needs including end-users and management. The basic data entry of the journals, approval process, allocations process, and global consolidations are some of the features that are worth mentioning in the review.
  • Capturing business data through user data entry and imports
  • Financials analysis and reporting
  • Global consolidations
  • Journals upload through legal systems
  • Improve on the consolidation process
  • Reporting in different formats
Oracle Financials is well-suited for mid to large scale organizations and legal entities. It can work as a stand-alone system and also as an integrated tool with not only Oracle ERP but any other ERP systems as well.

Oracle Financials is less appropriate for instant reporting.

Our company provides private cloud infrastructure solutions - my function is to pair Oracle DB & Apps with Supermicro hardware then take the products to market. I consult with our customers, mainly Oracle & SAP users, on their hardware selection. My business unit is focused on developing these solutions for our customers.
  • Easier to configure & customize than SAP.
  • Cloud licensing model is easier to understand than SAP.
  • Better automation & orchestration of administration & tasks than SAP.
  • Better resource usage metrics.
  • If Oracle acquired Splunk & integrated their IT telemetry functions, that would be awesone.
  • Hybrid model licensing should be easier to understand & audit.
Our customers biggest concern for the public cloud is still security. Our customers still tend to put sensitive data on private cloud systems and non-sensitive workloads on public cloud storage, even though their own private clouds might not be as secure. More education on public versus private cloud security would be useful.

Oracle ERP Cloud is being used by the entire organization. It is used by Procurement, Accounting and Sales. We are using Oracle ERP Cloud as the backbone of our business to automate processing and streamline our business.
  • Providing updates in a timely fashion to address needs.
  • Streamlined end user interface that can be used by all levels of users.
  • Workflow benefits processes for approvals.
  • Oracle ERP Cloud does not have the same functionality in all areas that EBS has done well for years.
  • Troubleshooting is difficult within ESS jobs as they show succeeded but the process contains issues that have to be seen in the logs.
Oracle ERP Cloud is well suited for a business that can use the out of the box processing with more vanilla business processes. Configuration adds abilities but they cannot address all areas within the initial rollouts.

We use Oracle ERP as our primary solution for procurement, AP, GL posting, and orders processing. Oracle ERP Cloud is the primary source for sales and renewals. And, we integrated Oracle ERP Cloud with Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) for analyzing monthly and quarterly sales data.
  • Very secure
  • Data is consistent
  • Fast data
  • Cost could be reduced
  • Support engineers could be more interactive with customers
At my company, we use Oracle ERP Cloud right from Sales, to Renewals, to Product delivery.

Our customers use it to run their business, which is Public Sector. They are using Oracle ERP Cloud to reduce the cost of running their systems, and to take advantage of the SaaS model of consumption. They have retired multiple custom systems and consolidated onto ERP Cloud.
  • Core Financials is second to none.
  • Built on the Fusion stack which is highly extensible.
  • The adaptive intelligence in ERP Cloud is pretty cool.
  • Deeper functionality in asset management.
  • More web services API's would be good.
  • Improved analytics capability.
Well suited to medium to large organizations with complex processes and business problems, this includes most Public Sector organizations. It is less appropriate for specific industry verticals where there is niche functionality (eg JD Edwards is good for the wine industry).

The product is being used across 36,000 employees across the UK. It is being used by one main central government department and a smaller entity. The products looks to bring together HR and Finance to provide one source of the truth to enable planning and business decisions to be made. The product is currently rolled out for financials only and HCM is due to be released later this year.
  • User interface offers employees an easy way to access their data.
  • Provides financial information real-time - compared to previous ERP that was a day behind.

Oracle ERP Cloud is an innovative business software that is designed for use in all businesses irrespective of their size. Its cloud based and built and designed with modern business thinking where it amplifies, enables and streamlines all operations in a business. We use Oracle ERP Cloud in our company due to its simplicity and applicability in a number of business areas such as revenue management, accounting, project management, procurement and financial reporting among others areas and functions. The software has helped us a lot in managing our operations, lowering our operation costs, improving our workflows, ensuring financial accountability and helping us realize economies of scale and beat competition from our rivals.
  • It streamlines all core business operations ensuring efficient workflows
  • Offers cutting-edge financial reporting through its Financials Cloud ensuring accurate financial reporting and management.
  • Enables comprehensive management of project and portfolios in their complete life-cycle hence ensuring efficiency and success.
  • Its not that highly customizable.
  • The monthly charges are a bit high as they are payable monthly/user.
  • Poor internet connections impedes on how it works making it slow and sluggish.
Its very hard to find scenarios where Oracle ERP Cloud is less appropriate since from what I have observed in our company, it impacts almost every area and department in our company. There are a number of scenarios where it fits perfectly in our company such as the procurement cloud where using the Procurement Cloud module where through this tool we are able to collaborate and work efficiently with our suppliers, manage supplier risk and execute practical and sound procurement policies that are not a detriment to our company. Its also enables us to manage and track our projects easily hence become an important tool in our progress as a company.

  • Limited customization, it is hard to configure to be the way we want to be at our company.
  • Limited product suites. With the increase of applications, it seems they should be bundled all together without need of upgrades.
Great software for project management

ERP Cloud is used across accounting and finance and provides an integrated solution to previously disparate systems
  • Best in class process flows
  • Centralized, standardized control
  • Integration with other modules
  • Control accounts can be posted to by any subledger. For example, Fixed Asset control accounts can be posted to directly by Accounts Receivable, if someone wanted to. Restricting the control accounts to the necessary subledgers would be very helpful.
  • Some processes are inconsistent in the manner in which they post. For example, if a revaluation job is run a 2nd time in a period you are required to manually reverse the 1st job. By comparison, if you run the translation job a second time in a period you don't have to reverse the first job.
  • Confusion about whether a process should be in ERP or in FCCS.
Moving from an on-premise system for a large company is a hard position. Careful planning is needed to accommodate all of the existing customizations as a company moves to the cloud. The more customizations the higher the change management process.
