I like the fact that they have wonderful customer service. The implementation process was phenomenal, very useful. And so far, the employees are very satisfied with the platform in general.
Cons
Not at this time really.
Likelihood to Recommend
I think if you're looking for a cost effective platform, Paycom is definitely a wonderful resource for that.
We use Paycom to manage employee from onboarding, timekeeping, benefits and terms. Their full service garnishment service makes managing 1700 employees a breeze.
Pros
Communication on updates
Full service Garnishment processing
Customization and automated reporting
Cons
The system for blackout dates, I understand that GONE has replaced it, but our use case doesn't support using it.
Updating location/position via PAF, currently after a PAF is implemented you have to go into individual punches and update them for the PAF to be effective.
When running GL reports, there is no way to permanently disable including the payroll fee.

For a medium/to large company Paycom works great. However it would be too much for a small startup.
I use Paycom every day. Our organization uses it for Payroll processing and HRIS. I found it to be a great platform that is always improving and adding new helpful features. We switched from Word doc PAFs to Paycom's PAF dashboard, which made it much easier for audits to have the PAFs saved in Paycom.
Pros
Beti update saved so much time processing payroll, and gave employees the ability to approve their checks.
Our Paycom Rep, Gregory Hinson, is so knowledgeable and quick to respond to any questions we have.
Easy to navigate platform and easy for new joiners to learn.
Client action center is a helpful tool to see tax profile discrepancies and direct deposit returns.
Cons
Performance Reviews.
CA Final Wage Payments.

Paycom's reps being so knowledgeable and quick to respond has helped me so much whenever I have questions or need help with anything. It is important to me to have a great rep who is willing to help. The Beti feature update has been great and has cut down the amount of time to process payroll. Allowing employees to approve their checks has created trust and the ability to correct errors to avoid retro pay.

I have used Paycom at two different companies. One is a mid-sized NonProfit, and one is a large HOA. Both organizations utilize Paycom for their Payroll, HR Data Management, Benefit Administration, and Performance Tracking solutions. The HOA is also using its Talent Management solution and its certification tracker. Paycom has been an excellent solution at both companies, meeting their unique business needs and helping to simplify, streamline, and automate their processes. In both cases, Paycom moved payroll processing from a multi-day event to a simple 4-6-hour process, from timecard review through submission.
Pros
Payroll Automation
Applicant Tracking
Benefit Administration
Cons
Paycom's long-term care specialist support can vary depending on who is assigned to your case. They could improve the consistency of support by providing additional training to their dedicated specialists before putting them on accounts.
I would like to see them invest more into their notifications dashboard, putting more of the Applicant Tracking notifications on the main homepage.

Paycom works well for complex payroll structures, where multiple codes apply to an individual. They also scale smoothly with your company when set up correctly, allowing you to add more complexity and products to your system over time. Paycom can be a great product for a company with multiple divisions or for someone looking to get a smaller company off on the right foot.

We use Paycom for Payroll, Applicant Tracking, Human Resources and Talent Management needs. The only things that we do not use them for is our job pricing, we use salary.com for that as they do not offer that service. We also do surveys but use a another vender that is able to provide us with analytics as well as a 1:1 module. Paycom seems to do what we need it to do and for the most part is reliable and has very few issues.
Pros
Paycom does payroll well.
The Benefits module is great.
Applicant tracking works, but there are definitely some ways they could improve.
Cons
The surveys module is far from being adequate for what we need. They need to look at TINYpulse or other survey companies so that they can enhance their product.
The reporting is far easier in ADP and it could definitely use some work in Paycom.
We also wish they had a product like salary.com so that we could job price. The integration is ridiculously expensive.

When you get a good rep, the customer service is good. But it is hit or miss on that. Also, they have a pretty high turnover so if you get a good rep, you tend not to get to keep them. Otherwise I know the system really good and am able to move forward with almost anything without Paycom's assistance. If we are calling them it is because of a true issue.
I use Paycom for HR and payroll and I use it daily for time and attendance, benefits, performance management and talent acquisition so my scope is huge. The product also addresses real-time attendance, pto requests and any and all employee changes that need to occur, done by the employees themselves, including check approvals, benefits administration and open enrollment as well.
Pros
All things Payroll
Human Resources Responsibilities
BETI

Cons

Benefits, time and attendance and payroll are all very well done. BETI and the integration with employee responsibility is very valuable and puts the onus on the employee for almost all changes in their taxes, addresses, onboarding and direct deposit. I sincerely appreciate that.
Paycom has allowed our Boston-based nonprofit to streamline our onboarding and employee support and offer training all in one place. I don’t think we could do what we do today without Paycom. The service is outstanding; we get someone right away. We can also learn about new features very quickly that support our nonprofit and reduce the manual work we do for employees. It gives us more time to be employee-facing, which is great!
Pros
Fast service.
New ideas.
Non profit support.
Cons
I would love to meet a rep in person.
One feature we would love is the ability to track mileage at a low cost through this module. We have several community-based employees who have mileage, and they now have to do everything manually.

I am in several human resources groups, and we often talk about HIRS systems. I am listing Paycom because it goes above and beyond the others that I have worked with. Not only is their service and response time among the fastest I’ve ever seen. Communication is key when you have to navigate a system.

We use Paycom's full suite, everything except Performance. We first implemented in 2020, and have always been happy with the platform. The differentiator for Paycom is the support. Having a dedicated CSR and Sales Rep are wonderful, but it is more than that. In six years, we have never had a bad experience with customer support. The continuous updates, stellar support, and employee experience are unparalleled. I have implemented many platforms over my 20+ years in HR, and Paycom stands out as my preferred strategic partner.
Pros
Employee experience / user friendly
Outstanding support
Continuous Improvement and updates
Security
Cons
Less focus on iWant
Ability to email reports outside of platform

I've implemented at least 7 HRMS and/or performance suites over the years. I have no true complaints about the platform. We have found that for one of our client codes, the scheduling functionality doesn't accommodate the constant scheduling adjustments our transportation company requires. That said, our routes can change more than once an hour and start/end times often change with routes. We have found that managing the full employee life cycle is even more streamlined with the recent Position Seat updates. We also value that the platform is a native build - so no lagging API integrations to navigate.
We use Paycom's full suite of products, payroll, recruiting, time and attendance, and much more. It keeps things simple and easy for our employees and helps our HR team stay compliant with garnishments and EEO. Having our employees input their own data ensures that data is accurate and HR doesn't have to worry about typos. We are also able to store employee documents and have one place for them to be located instead of on a personal computer.
Pros
Upgrading the product regularly
Easy to reach account reps
Single Source of Truth
Employee driven data
Cons
Better AI technology
Easier to find Reports
Cleaner/customizable alerts on landing page
Likelihood to Recommend
Payroll does great with how well all the different functions work together. Time and attendance talks well with payroll. If an employee forgets to put in their time off request, it's easy to add in before payroll is run. I've also had several employees be able to update their pay prior to payroll actually running. This has saved time and effort to put it onto the next payroll.
