Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Paycom for our business payrolls and government reporting. We also use Paycom for our Payroll onboarding process for all new hires. We use Paycom for our payroll documentation needed for employees. Such as benefit package sign up or benefit refusal. Paycom report retention is amazing. Employees can retrieve documentation for there personal lives. We use Paycom for confirmation of our employee understanding of our company handbook and employee benefit package offered by us. We have our payroll set up to request employees confirm their check earnings and deductions to lesson any errors. We utilize Paycom for our annual employee evaluations.

Paycoms flexibility and customizable tools within the application. Employee document retention and easy access for our employees. Prior to our payroll submissions we send an email request to our payees for confirmation that their pay and deductions for the pay and deductions. like the flow of employee evaluation and assignment roles.

Great portal for Payroll and HR needs including Employee Self-Service, organization charts, talent acquisition including tax credits, background screenings, time management, ACA, E-Verify, benefits administration, government and compliance including EEOC, Vets, OSHA, FMLA, COBRA, and expense management. Learning/compliance training module, performance management, career and succession planning, and Notifications for all as well. Their customer service is top-notch also!

Paycom is well suited for any size organization that utilizes many or all of the modules that they offer. Probably less appropriate for those that don't use a lot of the HR modules, but then again, they are necessary for most size businesses.

Making the switch to Paycom has brought us so much time savings with our HR and payroll processes. We wish we would have make the changes years sooner. Prior to the change we were doing so many things manually, including making sure taxes and garnishments were handled properly. Now it is all automated and we can trust that it is being done correctly. Our employees appreciate the visibility into all of their payroll items too. Paycom brought us out of the stone ages.

We have had great luck with our payroll processing, new hire setup, benefits administration, and withholding tax setup and tracking. It has also worked well as our timekeeping system and our employees find it easy to use and helpful to have full transparency. There are constant improvements that are made so it doesn't become stagnant.

I use Paycom as an employee and an employer. Paycom is a robust platform that continuously works to improve the system and processes in place to serve their clients. The employee-side is user friendly on both the web version as well as the app. The client-side has a learning curve that can take a little time to master, but once a user understands the system, it truly works FOR the client. The reporting function is fantastic, and the client support is unmatched. Highly recommend!

Paycom's time keeping system is easy to use and access as both an employee and employer. As an employee, you can see a very clear and easy to understand breakdown of what your paycheck will look like prior to receiving it. This function empowers employees to gain a thorough understanding of how much they are make, what deductions and taxes are being taken out, what leave was used during the pay period, along with so much more. That insight is valuable.

We use Paycom for our payroll needs primarily; we also use it for recruitment, onboarding COBRA administration, Open Enrollment and Labor Allocation. Streamlines billing with our medical providers, provides ease of use for our employees. It is my primary role and primary application used in my position as Payroll Specialist.

well suited for smaller businesses. most of our functions are housed in the payroll system, so that makes things easier. Not sure how sophisticated the labor allocation and job costing system would work with a large organization. We have to closely monitor tax profiles and multi-state things. Hard to follow and understand at times.

We use Paycom to manage time punches, PTO requests & approvals, learning courses, expenses for reimbursements, manage reviews for performance and raises, bonuses, hiring processes, time and pay approvals. We are able to collect our tax information and make changes if necessary. We also use Paycom to select & manage our benefits and 401K distribution.

  • We use it to hire employees and that process works well with the apps that we have tied in.

Cons

  • As a manager I would like to have more capabilities to add features which is managed within the company.
  • I would like to see more of how the reports can interface with Acumatica.
  • I would like to see a better dashboard for open applications for hire

I truly don't think that the staff at my company has had adequate training with the software. I know that there are tutorials available for this and I think that once properly trained this will work better for us. I am also interested in seeing what else is available that works best with Acumatica with the upgraded software.

We use Paycom for our biweekly payroll, monthly retirement contributions, payroll tax filings and annual benefit enrollment. We have roughly 80 FTE.

  • Hesitant to provide recommendations for best practices
  • We've experienced a high level of turn over for our direct support rep over the last couple of years
  • Would like to have automatic triggers based on certain variables. For instance, when I apply a housing allowance earning code to an employee - I would like the system to automatically block federal withholding, social security and Medicare taxes.
  • I would like to ability to archive/hide inactive departments

  • quick to blame us when it was not our error in my opinion but on Paycom's end

From our experience, Paycom sent us our checks and they took 4 days to get to us. We didn't receive them in time for payday so we had to hand write the checks. We asked Paycom to stop payment and not charge us for it because they didn't get the checks to us in time. Paycom agreed and then charged us for the stop payment on each check anyways.

We use Paycom for payroll processing, benefits administration, applicant tracking, expense management, employee reviews, reporting purposes, such as EEO-1. The reports that are available to use in Paycom are very valuable. We would not be able to extract information as quickly without it. It saves us so much time and allows for efficiencies.
