Overall Satisfaction with Paycom

Paycom is a one-stop shop for all things HR related. It simplifies many HR activities by placing them in a single place. It's interface is intuitive and user friendly, and the app is real handy for employees to manage time, approve their time, request time off, manage benefits, etc. Obtaining and keeping records of required employee acknowledgements, training, and other activities can also easily be managed in Paycor.

Pros

  • Manages employee time card, and approvals
  • Manages employee time off requests and absence tracking
  • Manages any required documents for authentication by the employee
  • Has intuitive dashboards that are customizable for Management

Cons

  • The app is great, but not all functions of Paycom are available in it.
  • Making the initial landing page a little more user friendly would be helpful, but overall it's great
  • The time saved on payroll is huge. Employee ability to interact through the app for payroll adjustments, approvals, etc. is a real satisfier for me.
  • The ability to track employee compliance with mandatory tasks, the ability to send out a notification or message to the employee is another huge ROI for me.
  • Managing employee onboarding is so much easier. We are able track all functions/interactions and see where an employee is in regard to onboarding.
In my prior experiences, Time and Attendance was all of the function we had and employees were not able to access and approve time, do time off requests. All of those process were previously manual. Paycor has combined the many functions that management handles into a single application. It has replaced a lot of manual or "siloed" processes.
Work flows for onboarding is one example of how Paycom has leveraged a one-stop solution. Everything can be tracked in the application regarding an employee's status within the onboarding process. And the handy mobile app works well with generation x, etc. Our younger applicants expect the ease of using an app to interact with our onboarding processes.
This is probably one of the better AI experiences in software. The ability to search and use the AI intuitiveness to find data and information is very helpful.
They are very similar in function, but the interfaces and dashboard are different. I found the Paycor dashboard to be more "social media" styled, with employee recognition on the front page. As a manager, I prefer to just jump in and get the task done that I need to do.

Paycom is well suited for organizations with up to 500 employees like ours, but I have not experience with it in a larger organization. We have used Paycom to communicate important policy changes to our employees and were able to obtain acknowledgements electronically. This completely eliminated a manual process of tracking sheets of paper and creating lists of those who were not compliant and emailing managers and employees to get compliance. That's huge for us.
