Great phone features for nonprofits

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

For our nonprofit, RingEX provides us phone lines. It helps our staff communicate and seamlessly transfer calls between staff without landlines or bulky equipment. RingEX makes us professional with multiple phone lines, hold feature and music, call transfer, answer first then transfer feature, menu options, voicemail features, and more. The app is intuitive and easy to use for the entire staff. The uptime is also stellar.

Cons

  • I would like to have my account rep for more than a few months
  • I'd like RingEX to function better off of wifi (i.e. on cell towers)
  • I'd like an intercom feature to call between staff members

Likelihood to Recommend

I only have 2 hesitations for recommending RingEX. First, it is its high price point for nonprofit and church budgets. While reasonable for its vast offerings and robust features, it is expensive as far as nonprofit budgets are concerned. My second hesitation would be its lackluster connectivity outside of wifi, that is, when connected to cell towers.

I mainly use RingEX to input and organize our practice's on-call tree and it is easy to use and didn't require too much difficulty when I first started to learn it. I appreciate the ease and user-friendly templates. We used to use physical phone systems to set up our complicated call tree and call forwarding, and this is much easier to set up monthly.

  • It takes a long time to setup the call queue in call tree
  • The custom rules take a lot of effort and time to setup.
  • Changing phone numbers for listed groups is confusing.

Likelihood to Recommend

It works well for our large medical practice. We especially like the group call forwarding and sending to custom call queues for forwarding. It takes a long time to manually setup Custom Rules in the group call queue forwarding.

We have 9 different store locations using RingEX. In addition, we have 2 remote employees that assist with calls for those locations, dependent on call volume. We use all of RingCentral's messaging and texting features on a daily basis. Recently, we set up extra phone numbers and IVR menus to aid in call flow and forwarding.

Likelihood to Recommend

RingEX is well suited for basic business communication across locations. Replying to, reacting to, and adding attachments to messages are all good features. Texting could be better integrated with other apps, but works well for basic needs. Call recordings often cause errors when trying to play them back, but when it works it is very useful. The call forwarding set up we use was a bit more complicated than it needed to be, but we finally got that working well.

We use AIR in RingEX to screen preliminary lead calls. The AI receptionist acts as a gate keeper and also provides the basic essential information most warm clients are seeking.

Great Product That Allows You To Have Your Desk Phone With You At All Times

We are an engineering firm of over 300 people. We use RingEX every day in our work environment. It makes it very convenient to be able to have your desk phone with you at all times. We always have our cell phones on us, so we can be reached at any time on our work number.

  • There is about a 3 second delay when you try to answer a call

We use RingEX for inbound and outbound calls. We currently have multiple call queues to assist with call flow. We utilize text, as well as fax, features. RingEX plays a key role in how we communicate with current and prospective clients. Additionally, it affords us the opportunity to grow our system as our company grows.

Pros

  • The app makes it easy for team members to work seamlessly between phone and text functions.
  • The option to route calls assists with effectively directing clients to the right team member.
  • AI tools improve productivity.

Cons

  • Call recording - users are not able to record calls made to a specific queue. Call recording is only an option for calls made to or from a phone line.
  • We'd like to see more robust reporting - more customizations.
  • We'd like to have more options for scheduling daily reports. For example, being able to run a report for calls missed from 7:01 p.m to 7:59 a.m. the next day would be helpful.

Likelihood to Recommend

If you need a simple call queue for your business needs, RingEX works great. Text features are helpful with communicating with current and prospective clients. If you need a system that delivers text features where conversations can be tracked from start to finish, and where multiple users can maintain join in on the communication, this may not meet your needs.

In our organization, we used RingEX for communication purposes, like client voice calls, Video meetings, Messaging, and document sharing. It will be very useful to communicate easily with clients, especially used for the HR department and the US IT recruiter role, we can easily communicate with US clients through Calls and messages.

Cons

  • We can use the RingEx in our Mobile to use for Basic calls and messages, but sometimes the mobile application lags or disconnects while using video calls or screen sharing.
  • we can easily configure in our laptops.
  • The Meeting recording option is really helpful for our organization

I would definitely refer this to my colleagues, because the RingEX is one of the best platforms for recruiters. After all, some of the candidate has some busy schedules, so they couldn't answer the calls, but we can use the message option, we got more responses from that, so we can easily and fastly connect with them, and it will be very helpful to improve our organization.

We use our phones to conduct normal daily business activities. Calling, texting, and faxing our customers. Receiving like communication from our customers. Some departments use the video chat feature.

  • The admin portal makes it easy to add users and change settings

  • At this point, I don't see anything that needs improvement

The fax and text service works smoothly. Sometimes the admin portal is updated and the settings I regularly change are moved to a different location. Letting the users know changes were made and where things were moved would be helpful.

We use RingEX for our full suite phone system—IVR Menu, call queues, fax, etc.

RingEX solves our synchronous business communication internally and externally with our existing and potential customers. We use approximately twenty lines across two locations with a multi-level IVR menu to route our customers to the appropriate store and department.

  • RingEX provides the ability to customize the phone system and settings
  • Ability to bring our own devices to the Ring platform

Cons

  • Support phone menu is confusing and appears to require extensive verification process
  • When configuring devices and phone numbers, depending on which module you access this section through, you may be charged a fee. Simply put, confusing/redundant options with different outcomes.
  • Support staff did not set clear expectations for the requirements of making the phone system go live, leading to lost business

Likelihood to Recommend

RingEX is suitable for companies with multiple locations and departments. Ring also provides a variety of options appropriate for call centers and companies with much larger head counts. RingEX may be less appropriate for applications with headcounts less than 5 or organizations that perform better with a person routing phone calls—though Ring has that functionality as well.

RingEX is quite simply the best UcaaS solution on the market today, we couldn't function without it. The user interface is seamless and we had team buy-in immediately after our adoption. We would highly recommend this solution to anyone in the marker for a new communication technology platform, super pleased with the product!

RingEX is well suited for organizations of any size, super scalable and very reliable. We love the collaboration tool, the video meetings, the e-fax, call recording, AI call summaries are great and super useful way of not having to listen to a bunch of calls to supervise and monitor your team.
