The portal offers standard online shop features, like adding new address, creating purchase lists, reordering of previous carts, and initiate returns. In addition to order placing, customers can track the status of their order, download documents like invoices, quotations and technical datasheets.
Pros

SmartEdit (the conent editor manager) lacks a lot of basic features
Likelihood to Recommend
SAP Commerce Cloud provides frequest security updates and a reliable solution for the company. The basic store can be setup in couple months and offer a fast go to market presence.
If your website however is content heavy, SmartEdit does not offer much of flexibility. It would be better to connect an exteral CMS solution if it is available.
The Backoffice interface which is meant for Business is on one side very powerful, but not intuitive from UX perspective.

We use SAP Commerce as our main B2B and B2C digital commerce initiative. It's scalable with omnichannel and helps our target users display products with ease, across different geographies and business units. The business problem that Commerce cloud helps to eradicate was on a single source of truth for managing product information catalog, SAP PCM (product content management) helped to improve and centralize one source of truth with regard to different products, and hence increasing search, etc in accuracy. Slow time to go to market - This issue was mainly during the launch of a new set of products and services, with the rollout of promotional localized storefronts, which helped to shorten the cycle, making storefronts faster, quicker, and seamless with headless architecture. Disconnected experiences- It was difficult to provide a unified expertise with different channels (web, mobile portals). SAP Commerce Cloud helped to unify the channel management with consistent data, pricing, and product catalog management. Integration with SAP S/4 HANA with having the same source of truth helping it to idealize the flow of data and help on end to end order to cash flow with order fulfillment and billing and invoice generation integration and feeding back the information of the fulfilment back to commerce cloud with accurate status on order and helped commerce user track their end to end B2B & B2C deliveries.
Pros
Catalog and pricing management
Single source of data
Approval and workflows
product & catalog managment
omni channel experience
Cons
easing the customization process
slowness in back office operations
LImited reporting
less down the complexity
High cost of ownership
missing AI/ML features on Out of the box functionality
Likelihood to Recommend
well suited in handling complex B2B sales scenarios with SAP S/4 Integration less suited in handling mid size organization and managing aglie work environment with API only & microservices, Merchandising with real-time personalization

Helps us to improve the user experience of our customers, related to the manual ordering process such as a lack of information and transparency.
Pros
Syncing with the ERP
Stock availability
Clear product catalog
Cons
Customizing the ordering journey for different customer types
Performance of complex pricing conditions
Likelihood to Recommend
A complex environment with a lot of different customers and across markets is well suited for SAP Commerce Cloud. Smaller organizations might not need the complexity.
We run our B2B E-Commerce platform on SAP Commerce Cloud (CCV2). Business employees are our customers and they log into our Storefront which is built out of Composable Storefront and transact. SAP Commerce Cloud forms the core of our services as it is the only platform that we expose to our customers.
Pros
Builds the basic components of n e-comm platform very well - like the storefront, cart, checkout, PLP, PDP etc.
The decoupling of the storefront with the backend Hybris system is a great recent gain after we migrated out UI to Spartacus
We use SmartEdit very effective as our single CMS system to manage all web content real time.
Cons
The interface to SmartEdit could be better
Promos are we resource intensive. running multiple promos sometimes slows the platform down
Managing jobs can be made better. Sometimes jobs get stuck and there is no active notifications sent.
Likelihood to Recommend
SAP Commerce Cloud is well suited for enterprises that need a scalable e-comm website up and running quickly. It scales well to multiple geo locations and launching multiple store sites is a breeze.
SAP Commerce Cloud struggles when the traffic is high. The platform hardware resource utilization is high, especially memory. So it may not be ideal for a very large e-comm site without spinning up large number of API nodes.
