Overall Satisfaction with SAP Commerce Cloud

SAP Commerce Cloud is being used by one of our Electronics client for their D2C sites in their 180 countries of business. There are multiple instances of yCommerce for the client. For another Pharma client as well, it's being used for both B2B and B2C business for Order Management, Checkout Management, and Product Content management. SAP Commerce is one of the best in the market for storefronts using Spartacus.

Cons

  • The complexity of upgrading.
  • Recently the Java upgrade caused huge problem even after sap provided correct steps, it was not easy.
  • We need to really bring innovation to Spartacus as most of the clients are going with 3rd third-party/custom frontend.
  • D2C is the forefront for the customers and it has direct impact on the customer returns.
  • Recently, there was a login issue in the frontend for one of the clients, and they lost a huge amount of revenue, so it's evident how important it is for ROI.
  • Having a good integration with all other CX products give a edge advantage.
SAP Commerce Cloud is one of the key applications under the SAP CX portfolio of SAP Business Suite. It has out-of-the-box integrations with SAP and non-SAP products. Any business cannot earn revenue without a D2C site, hence it becomes more vital to return on investment. SAP Commerce Cloud also allows multiple storefronts under one license.
I've been leading the CX practice, and we do have multiple commerce suites for which we provide service/implementation to our clients. The most demanded product is SAP Commerce due to its flexibility, out-of-the-box integration available for integration with SAP and non-SAP products. It has all the modules available for both B2C and B2b.

SAP Commerce and Spartacus together becomes one of the omnichannel powerhouse of commerce application. It also comes with edge advantage with out of the box integrations with many SAP applications and also non-SAP applciations which gives it edge advantage over other tools. The main reason being the integration becomes easier as SAP shares the common data schema and model across all its product line and new feature releases are compatible with all the SAP product line.
