Kaseya adopted the 8x8 [X Series (Formerly Virtual Office)] platform in the Asia Pacific region to get better unified communications across the commercial, pre and post sales consultants departments and the Support organization who are deployed across the entire region. This allowed both a standardized internal chat application standardized across all Business units but also a flexible soft phone deployment that became critical in the era of Covid 19 lockdowns
Pros
- Flexible deployment across all major operating systems (windows\Mac etc)
- Intuitive ui
- 24x7 phone and chat support
Cons
- Currently there is no ability to automate the deployment of the user app via automation deployment tools.
- The meeting client is not as well known as Zoom or Teams
- Its not obvious on how to upload contacts into the system
- We have been able to minimise subscriptions to a variety of UC communication platforms.
- Standardised UC system has allowed internal Support improvements as they only need to be trained on one platform now.
- A simpler vendor relationship with only one organisation for all our UC needs
The global availability of 8x8 [X Series (Formerly Virtual Office)] was critical to our company wide adoption, ensuring Kaseya can use the platform regardless of geography and with no call degradation or issues. Historically we have found other providers with global exposure have their systems hosted in the US or EMEA exclusively leading to poor telephone quality in the APAC region.
