Overall Satisfaction with ActiveCampaign

I am a sole-proprietor but have a subcontracted assistant who manages Active Campaign for me. We use it to communicate with past clients and also for marketing/newsletter purposes.

Pros

  • Competitive price point.
  • Great design flexibility.
  • Integrates with lots of other software I use.

Cons

  • Super robust features make for a steep learning curve.
  • Hard to know where to start with so many different features.
  • Great deals when you buy the yearly membership.
  • Less expensive than most competitors.
  • Easy to see what's working and not working to increase ROI.
Mailchimp was very "clunky" and difficult to use. Things didn't make sense and it was hard to know where to go to find what I needed. They also recently changed their pricing model so the free version was fairly useless anyway which is what prompted my switch to AC.
I think Active Campaign would be great for pretty much all businesses. Maybe not super huge e-commerce type sites but any small to mid-sized businesses would greatly benefit.
