Overall Satisfaction with ActivTrak
We currently use ActivTrak to monitor employee productivity and provide easy-to-read reports to management. The use of ActivTrak is incredibly beneficial for organizations that predominantly employ remote workers. ActivTrak addresses the problem of decreased productivity in remote work and also allows us to monitor task completion more closely. My team uses it every week to send reports to upper management and to monitor any new features.
Pros
- Concise data points.
- Easy to read reports.

Cons
- A more detailed explanation is required when updating specific titles within the system. For instance, total time has recently become "screen time". An email notification of this change and its implications would have gone a long way.
- Easier to read the Activity Log in reporting. Sometimes, when downloading large amounts of reports, it can be cumbersome and challenging to navigate through them.
- Customized reports feature.
- Employee engagement. We observed, on average, a 5-10% gradual increase in employees' engagement (non-passive time) in the work they are doing.
- Informed Decision Making. AT has allowed for more informed decision-making for our HR and business leaders regarding underutilized workers.
- "Top users and groups". With this feature, we build out and send detailed monthly productivity reports to managers and leaders. This helps us better utilize our team members while also looking out for burnout in those who are overutilized.
- "Activity Log". This helps us ensure team members are staying on track, and the different classifications make it easy to monitor who has been using their work time in an unproductive manner.
- "Alarms & Screenshots" is an easy, quick snapshot into what people are up to. Helps us monitor if our data is at risk.
It has significantly helped us improve productivity by giving management an easy-to-read report that highlights all key features. Active, Passive, Total time, as well as daily averages. These insights helped us identify who is over- and underutilized, enabling us to make more informed decisions regarding workload and compensation.
ActivTrak helps us see how much work each team member is doing, whether they’re in the office, hybrid, or remote. This lets us spot when someone is being overburdened or at risk of burnout and reassign tasks before it becomes a problem. It also ensures work is shared fairly across the organization as well as within departments. With this data, managers have been able to have better conversations with their teams to support healthy work habits and keep everyone productive.
ActivTrak provides us with insight into which platforms we are paying for that may not be utilized, allowing us to save money in this regard. It also gives us some insight into how work is being done and will enable us to make more informed decisions on who, or what, should handle specific tasks.
