Overall Satisfaction with Acumatica
We manage indirect materials for our companies, focusing on maintenance spare parts to help our customers keep their plants running. In addition to corporate financials, we use Acumatica to plan, purchase, and track inventory at a transactional level as an agent for our customer. We leverage dashboards to drive our workforce to the meaningful work that we need them to perform. Workflow Approval removes the physical paper trail, reducing paper waste of the past and speeding up approval that is context sensitive to departmetal budgets affected by consuming the spare parts we manage.
Pros
- The user experience is so intuitive that we recently trained our new site team in days instead of weeks.
- The platform is so extensible that we have been able to customize the software to meet the unique needs of our business model.
- The licensing model provides flexibility to support our BPO model in a way that most competitors we considered would not.
Cons
- Training and documentation has improved significantly over the last few years. However, I would like to see Acumatica offer customers in-person training events where the highly technical resources of a company can fast-track training for sysadmins and developers who want internal control proprietary type customization.
- The community site is great for Q&A, but I miss the simplicity of finding export technical blog posts available on the Acumatica Blog site that were written by trusted developers in the community. I always enjoyed being able to make checking the Acumatica blog part of my morning routine, and now it is difficult to locate the technical blogs that interest me among all the noise of everything thrown into the mix. I would really like to see that decision reversed or the revival of asiablog to be my "I have 5 minutes" source of finding good information fast.
- We tried SAP and Oracle which failed to meet our needs. Acumatica met our needs at a far lower cost, faster learning curve, and stronger community support.
4-6 months
Simplicity. Easier to use, ability to integrate our customers into our internal process to manage their inventory, and greater visibility for customer oversight of how we are performing, as well as better visibility of internal work performance and areas of weakness. Dashboards make information configurable and meaningful where the noise can be pushed aside as green panels and the important issues raised as red panels.
We use the BPO model to manage spare parts for our customers. We plan, procure, and track spare parts in support of maintenance so that our customers can use expensive and highly skilled labor to keep the plant running instead of running down parts.
- Infor CloudSuite Industrial (SyteLine)
The licensing model between the two made Syteline irrelevant. The extensibility of Acumatica has proven to be its most valuable difference for us.
