Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Acrobat
We use Adobe to issue policies and procedures, generate office leases and execute contracts among many other things. Adobe Acrobat provides a platform to create professional looking documents that can easily be distributed and stored to internal and external clients. It also has a host of tools including a fill & sign feature which makes e-approvals super-easy. Finally, you can convert PDFs into all of the standard MSOffice apps.
Pros
- #1 feature is it's ability to read and enable editing of PDFs
- Allows for e-signatures
- Can turn scanned documents into editable, searchable PDFs
- Compatibility with MSOffice applications
Cons
- If you don't have the pro-version it can be difficult to manipulate the PDF
- The file size is sometimes very large which can make distribution a challenge
- Not all features and tools are easy to learn or super-intuitive
- E-signature
- Edit PDF documents
- Scanning features
- Tracking contracts and their status
- Security of documents
- Integration of various documents
- Ease of Use
One of the biggest benefits of Adobe is that there is a very low barrier for usage. I don't need to train my staff since it's so intuitive.
We use Adobe heavily for things like leases, contracts, etc. It is of the utmost importance that we can rely on Adobe's security standards to ensure that there are no security issues with these key documents.
I don't recall the specific competitors I evaluated but Adobe is clearly the industry leader in this area. Given the reasonable pricing there really isn't a reason to spend a lot of time trying to identify alternatives.

Evaluating Adobe Acrobat and Competitors
I probably wouldn't other than we would have upgraded to the professional version and gotten more licenses early on.
Adobe Acrobat Implementation
Change management was minimal - Minimal change mgmt was required since employees were already so familiar with Adobe
- Didn't have professional version at the beginning so not being able to edit docs was frustrating
Adobe Acrobat Training
- No Training
Absolutely. I think training could still be worthwhile in order to maximize the functionality of the software but isn't necessary if you're just using it for the basic functions.
