Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Captivate

We provide interactive video software Stornaway, and our users use Captivate in conjunction with Stornaway in the creation of learning experiences for Learning Management Systems. Our users are trying to create interactive learning experiences with rich media, in order to increase engagement and retention of knowledge. We are working towards tighter integration between the platforms at our users' request. I support those users at large enterprises and small businesses around the world.

  • Positive: users come to us because they want to extend what they can do in Captivate with interactive immersive video
  • Negative: Because it cannot support Stornaway.io videos inside Captivate at the moment, we are missing opportunities for better user experiences
  • Positive: It has opened people's minds to what's possible with interactive video
Articulate currently has some benefits over Captivate in flexibility and responsive design, but I think these are being addressed in the next version of Captivate. Articulate is also more fiddly. Mac support is important to our users, who are majority Mac users.

Captivate is often a solution that people are already using, and have a lot of knowledge in. We see it used in course design by teams with deep experience using it. We most often come across our users using Captivate in media creation teams at universities and companies who want to create interactive and immersive video experiences.
