Overall Satisfaction with Adobe PhotoShop

Photoshop is used by graphic designers, motion designers, space designers, and 3D artists in my organisation. It is used across the length and breadth of designers, from design directors to junior designers, to production teams. As we require software to edit and retouch imagery, Photoshop does the best job compared to the other products available. And with AI and Adobe suite integration, it is irreplaceable in any design organisation.

Pros

  • Image editing of any sorts.
  • Digital illustration.
  • Expanding image using generative expand tool.

Cons

  • The effect applying time could be faster.
  • There could be a smarter way to make mockups using smart objects, maybe by directly selecting an area, and generative AI can automate a few steps.
  • If Photoshop can suggest the right stock imagery in case the generative AI doesn't get the right answer.
  • I think Photoshop does help make a lot of things faster, as one can quickly try things in Photoshop before actually executing a layout.
  • It has actively shared tutorials on the new features that it has been adding with each update.
  • Apart from graphic design, it helps other design departments like motion, 3D, and space design too.
I haven't met any designer who hates Photoshop. The Adobe Suite has covered the drawbacks of Photoshop really well by building a library of really smart softwares. The regular updates, like AI and evolving features like 3D and motion, have definitely added more possibilities of what a graphic designer could do. Overall, it is user-friendly, and the interface is great.
Every software has its kind of users, and Photoshop is ranked as one of the most competitive softwares and is used mainly by professionals. Figma is great for working in collaboration and designing Ui/Ux interface. Illustrator is great for vector-based work, such as logos and branding. InDesign works best if one is building large documents that require a lot of text formatting.

Do you think Adobe PhotoShop delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Adobe PhotoShop's feature set?

Yes

Did Adobe PhotoShop live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Adobe PhotoShop go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Adobe PhotoShop again?

Yes

I started my design journey by just learning one software, Photoshop. The possibilities of what one can do with this softwares are infinite. I have mainly used Photoshop for image editing, making mockups, and producing quick GIFs. Photoshop has better effects than most softwares and plugins, which helps if one is after a particular style or image treatment. I always struggle with it being slightly not beginner-friendly, as one might find the interface too overwhelming. The other thing is that it is an image-based and not a vector-based software, so one has to move back and forth if someone has to access a file in another software like Illustrator.
