Adobe Premiere Pro Puts a Movie Studio on Your Desktop
Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Premiere Pro
I use Adobe Premiere Pro to make short promotional videos for our products and services. As a small business, we must present a professional appearance without having to spend a small fortune on video production services, and Adobe Premiere Pro allows us to easily create videos that look like we spent a lot of money on them.
Pros
- Easily allows for layout of still and video elements.
- Easy to incorporate soundtracks and narrations
Cons
- The learning curve is a bit high. If you have experience with other Adobe products (Photoshop/Illustrator), it is a lot easier to pick up.
- Like all video editors, it's a bit of a resource hog. Make sure you have as much RAM as possible, and at least 500GB of an available scratch disk.
- Having the ability to edit videos ourselves saves us money in creating marketing assets.
- Being able to update our assets at will without having to contract an outsider saves us lots of money.
The Photos application that is built into Microsoft Windows has a rudimentary video editor in it. While this might be good for making slideshows to show at a class reunion or family get together, it is hugely lacking if you are trying to create professional projects that will be used to generate sales or drive interest in a product or brand, or tell an engaging, immersive story.
