Overall Satisfaction with Airtable

My department supports approx 1,000 employees in the Learning and Development realm. We have dozens of stakeholders, and various levels of projects that come our way. Previously, members of the same team felt they had "no idea" what each other was working on. Also stakeholders from one department had no idea what other stakeholders of their department had already requested.

I use AirTable in a number of ways:

* Pipeline tracking (what projects are coming and in what month)
* Staff assignment tracking (how many projects is someone involved in)
* % complete tracking. One of our big projects requires various people to complete certain items by certain dates. Having a dashboard that shows our percentage to completion is very helpful.

Airtable has finally provided our department a way to report out on the work that we do accurately. I pair it with Rescue Time to calculate the actual time spent in each project, but AirTable gives me the all up.

  • Switching views quickly: easily filters, groups, etc. Allows for sharable views that stakeholders can "see" but not edit.
  • Has basic formula features like sum, average, etc.
  • Multiple Tables can be created so staff can go to one spot to see it all.
  • Would like to see more formula support in the free version.
  • Would be ideal to have an integration with Outlook for time blocks. I think this is available in the premium version, but I am operating on the free version.
  • Using the free version, it appears that when other users in my team look at it, the last view they had, is the first one I had. I wish there was a default. Obviously would be improved if I purchased the paid version.
  • Since we are on the free version there has been no investment except for time. I am still working to see if I can get a budget approved for the paid version as I believe this will save our team a lot of time and the cost will easily be recouped.
I found JIRA to be clunky and a bit too sophisticated to use. Airtable is a dialed back, easy to use version.
Excellent for project tracking. It is as easy to use as Excel, but very flexible and reporting is very easy.
