Overall Satisfaction with Appian

We use Appian to develop solutions that we bring to the market to sell. Our main focus is on healthcare-centric solutions that aim to bring patient and providers together virtually. We integrate with many systems and pull in data from many places to display in a single pane of glass for providers, reducing time spent looking into multiple systems, and increasing time on what's important - patients.
  • OOTB UI elements enable quick building of forms
  • Low or no code integration creation makes integrating with other sources easy
  • Build once, deploy anywhere makes it easy to put an application in users hands, regardless of form factor (desktop, mobile, etc)
  • I would like to see more flexibility in Appian's UI components
  • We're currently locked in to needing to have a user account if you want to interact with the system - it would be great to be able to have anonymous users
  • Appian's RPA capabilities are still growing. I would like to see more user friendly management/creation of RPA processes
  • We were able to build solutions far quicker and get them in front of customers than we ever would have been able to do with a COTS solution
Appian's support is responsive - typically getting back to you within a day. I've also worked closely with them on projects where we needed extra support looking through back-end logs in order to track down performance concerns.
Appian is very easy to use as an experienced developer. I initially had some trouble using their new RPA capabilities, but they've been slowly introducing more training materials which help a lot. Appian applications are clear to use from the end-user perspective as well.
UiPath is another RPA platform that I've used to automate processes within my business. However, I prefer to use Appian because in addition to RPA capabilities, it has a far more robust platform for business process management, which I want to be able to integrate my robotic processes with.
Appian is great for pretty much anything where you have a workflow. It can be configured to automatically assign tasks to groups of users and direct work based on pre-configured logic, speeding up hand-off points in the process. Appian currently isn't best suited to cases where you need a public portal where users aren't logged in to an account.
