We are using Atlassian Confluence for maintaining documentation across all the projects in our organization. Every project has documentation created in Atlassian Confluence which follows a hierarchical structure. Any additional information can be uploaded in the form of attachments. Atlassian Confluence is very easy to use for all people including business team, developers, testers, support to name a few.

Usability

Atlassian Confluence is great for any type of enterprise whether small, medium of large. It has something in store for each and every department of the organization as well. Managers can use it for resource management and ask the team to create documentation using Atlassian Confluence's project management features. Jira tickets can be linked easily to confluence ensuring quick access to any required information.

Alternatives Considered

Google Drive and Microsoft SharePoint

We were inclined to use Atlassian Confluence for its easy collaboration with Jira which is used for tracking project development tasks and issues. Using Atlassian Confluence, content creation became easy and even applying access control to the created content was possible. It was an ideal choice for our mid-size organization. Apart from the search function which can be better, other features are of great use for our daily use.

Documentation can be customized based on the requirements. Project management and resource management can be implemented easily using Atlassian Confluence. It is a great platform for hosting internal policies and guidelines.
