Overall Satisfaction with Atlassian Confluence

Atlassian Confluence at Numerator is used for creating documentation, project plans, workflows for different projects which can be accessed by different teams in our organization. Atlassian Confluence solves the business problem by providing a collaborative and centralized knowledge sharing platform that is easily accessible to other teams. Project management, Project collaboration, Technical documentation are some of our use cases at Numerator.

Pros

  • Atlassian Confluence does very well in creating all project related document, meeting notes, project workflows and diagrams.
  • Atlassian Confluence does well in integration with other Atlassian products like Jira and Trello. It can also be integrated with other third party softwares like Github, Slack, Google drive.
  • Team collaboration where multiple users can edit and comment on the documents.

Cons

  • Atlassian Confluence can improve their search algorithm, it is sometimes difficult to search the old and less frequently used documents and pages.
  • Atlassian Confluence can provide better customization options for tables and better page layouts.
  • Atlassian Confluence should improve their UI, it looks very basic and is also not very intuitive.
  • Atlassian Confluence has managed to keep our documents organized at one place allowing us to save some time and improve our efficiency.
  • Atlassian Confluence increased the knowledge base of the user across different team as they can access the documentation of different projects to gain some knowledge.
  • The only major negative impact is that Atlassian Confluence is slightly on the expensive side and the pricing increases as the team grows.
Atlassian Confluence is a very important tool that can help with agile project management by creating a central space to organize all the important documentation while allowing other teams to collaborate and learn. The integration of Atlassian Confluence with other tools like Jira, Slack, Google Drive, Github etc. for project tracking is great.

Atlassian Confluence is very well suited for creating project related documentations, workflows, meeting notes and other technical content. Atlassian Confluence is best for collaborative environment where different teams can access the documents when required. Atlassian Confluence is not appropriate for real time collaboration, it doesn't allow smooth real time collaboration like Google Docs.
