Overall Satisfaction with Avalara

Tadano uses Avalara to calculate, remit sales tax, CertCapture, Voluntary Disclosure Agreements, and Historical Registration. We use Avalara in two different departments. The sales department manages CertCapture, while the accounting department manages all the other functions. Tax can be a very complicated topic. Avalara addresses the problem by having a one-stop shop for sale tax.

Pros

  • I have done a few voluntary disclosure agreements. Jamie Fox did a great job at helping us remit that tax.
  • Automatically remitting sales taxes to different governments.
  • Reporting and audits are now easier.

Cons

  • I personally have not had any issues with Avalara.
  • Avalara saves hundreds of work hours. I can spend time on other work instead of calculating tax.
  • Avalara pays our taxes for us. I do not have to go through the process.
Avalara makes complicated taxes simple by providing us with the correct rates.
  • We have not had to pay any interest or late payments since joining Avalara.
Vertex is overpriced.
Tadano has sales in over 38 different states. Avalara is well suited to keep up with the changes in state tax changes. Avalara does not do income tax, however.
