Overall Satisfaction with Barracuda Backup

I implemented the Barracuda Backup appliance to backup 1 hyper-v host with 3 guest operating systems. The device integrated local and online backups for disaster recovery.
  • The BDU provides centralized management of backup jobs.
  • I've used the backup device to restore to dissimilar hardware. Restore time was more than adequate.
  • Replication is fast and smooth with deduplication which many vendors weren't offering at the time that I was vetting solutions.
  • Pricing!!!!
  • As a consultant, I spend less time managing backups than I used to when I was using a number of different solutions to achieve the same thing Barracuda Backup does.
Back when I was vetting this solution, I tested Zenith and Unitrends. Both were more complicated and expensive - especially considering the amount of end points that I needed to backup.

Barracuda Backup really excels when backing up multiple nodes as licensing is done for storage and not per device.
