Overall Satisfaction with BigCommerce
I have launched and managed a couple of e-commerce stores, primarily B2B, for two of our affiliated businesses, Precision Zone, and Alfra Tools. These stores carry Industrial Automation solutions, tools, and supplies. Currently, BigCommerce is our primary e-commerce channel, although we are starting to ramp up our Amazon presence as well.
Pros
- Excellent customer support.
- Feature-rich platform.
Cons
- Not all store features are available on lower-tier plans, such as the faceted search, for example.
- Streamline our e-commerce operations.
- Attract more store visitors.
$20,000 to $100,000
Yes, we have customized the store themes to match our brand's visual guidelines. BigCommerce allows customizing default store functionality through a number of ways, including the addition of curated apps found in the BigCommerce Marketplace, as well as by allowing API level integration with external systems. We also were able to modify our themes by adding custom Java Scripts to enhance the product listings and store visitor experience given the specifics of our industry.
Another serious contender to those planning to launch a B2B store is AmerCommerce. It offers a very impressive range of backend functionality. The only area where I see it lacking compared to BigCommerce is their pricing model. I cannot rate their long-term performance, since I only used them for a 15-day trial, but as far as features and the back-end design goes, they are on par with the leading e-commerce platforms.
