Overall Satisfaction with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT

My company has worked with Blackbaud for over 20 years. When NXT was introduced, it was a definite upgrade from the database version. NXT makes it very easy to record donor interactions, project reports, and geographical studies. Because NXT is a cloud-based platform, it is easily accessed anywhere. Using your phone, I pad, computer, etc. makes it very convenient when traveling.

Pros

  • Email recording of communications.
  • Geographic reports of donors.
  • Easily use voice to text to record actions.
  • Easily upload pdf and jpg attachments to a donor file.

Cons

  • I would like to have a query function similar to the database.
  • Upload or managing bulk actions from NXT would really help.
  • Digital PDF and JPG attachments.
  • Easily record email communications with the outlook plug in.
  • Cloud based accessibility.
  • Geographic research is much easier with map view targeting.
  • Increased efficiency.
Wealth ratings and gift records that are easy to review are very important. Overall the feature I utilize the most is the communication and attachment tools. The ease of recording actions or pulling up a donor agreement saves lots of time.
  • Online Training
The training is helpful. However, I still feel like this system is a Ferrari that we drive like a used Yugo. Primarily this is not the fault of Blackbaud but of the users who do not take the time to properly learn all of the features.
NA - I have been at my job for 16 years and we have not used other CRM platforms.

When traveling to meet donors, it is great to have everything easily accessible. Contact information, the ability to record actions, and detailed donor information are very helpful. Before NXT, these functions were not available without a computer; now, the cloud-based software is so much easier.
