Overall Satisfaction with BlackLine

BlackLine is an essential tool for reconciliations for our company. We reconcile our credit card statements against our GL. BlackLine alleviates having to do the reconciliations manually and allows us to deal with only the outliers that are not automatically matched by the software. We are looking to expand the scope of our use of the software beyond reconciliations and utilize the accounting tools as well as the many upcoming AI enhancements. Highly recommend to anyone that is still reconciling manually and wants to help automate this task.

Pros

  • Reconciles two sets of data
  • Identify Duplicates in uploaded data
  • Ability to set up match sets of many different kinds of data

Cons

  • It's not as easy to use as some other platforms
  • Requires advanced training to be able to use at intermediate level
  • It would be great if one can see their notes as opposed to having to click a link
  • Automating Reconciliation
  • Potential to reconcile in real time
  • Easing the ability to track unreconciled items
We've had issues with the cases we open with tech support and have been trying to schedule a meeting with our account rep for a couple of months (admittedly partially due to our schedule issues).
We only use for reconciliations but just that aspect has enhanced our ability and accuracy to reconcile.
It's like the difference in using a type writer vs a laptop.

Anyone that spends globs of time and money reconciling manually needs this software to make this task easier and less frustrating.
