Overall Satisfaction with Braze

I'm on the Marketing team, responsible for creating and reporting on Lifecycle campaigns. I send IAM, push, and email notifications out to hundreds of thousands of users. Most recently, I created a "welcome" campaign for brand new app users, to introduce them to our product and invite them to explore our bundle options. Otherwise, I'm creating comms for users across the lifecycle (reactivation, retention, etc.)

Pros

  • Simple campaign set up
  • Responsive customer service
  • Excellent help articles

Cons

  • Ability to download data (e.g. all Active Campaigns and Canvases)
  • Straightforward reporting and customizable success metrics
  • Full-scale QA testing
  • Negative - time spent trying to maintain active comms & troubleshoot testing
  • Positive - increase in retention from comms
I'm not a coder but I've had to use/get a basic understanding of Python, HTML, and CSS. I understand that most Marketers have this type of background (maybe not Python) but there should be an easier interface to customize templates without needing HTML/CSS.
We use segmentation and cross-channel functionality to target the right customers at the most opportune times in the best method -- this is extremely easy to achieve with Braze's Canvas building interface.

Do you think Braze delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Braze's feature set?

No

Did Braze live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Braze go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Braze again?

No

Braze is easy to use, as far as setting up Marketing campaigns go, but reporting out and the inability to easily download data is frustrating. It should be very simple to download all active campaigns into a .csv but it's actually impossible to do so (as far as what I've seen) which makes it difficult to track, especially when changing hands if there's no internal resource/tracking method. Overall, I would say Braze is good for sending comms to customers but not good with reporting and general CRM maintenance.
