Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Since we work from home, it is important for our developers and QA to have access to multiple real devices, BrowserStack is a good solution for that since it can provide the devices on the cloud. Also we use BrowserStack to run our test automation on real devices.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Provide a great variety of real mobile devices in the Cloud
Easy interface to run manual and automation testing
Continuous improvement of their products for example recently with the introduction of AI
Good customer support

Cons

For our employees who worked from the East Asia, the latency is a bit slower
Sometimes, we have some issues with some specific devices but after raising those issues to BrowserStack, usually they work on fixing them

We are happy with those products, it fits perfectly our needs, we can test our games using those product. We are also quite satisfy with our relation with our account manager, they provide us regular update about our usages and present us the new features. When we have some issues, their technical people are also available to support us and help us to investigate our issues.

We did a benchmark to compare multiple criterias: Security, reliability, Sound, Variety of devices, availability of devices, how long before new released devices are made available, easy to use, extra features, customer support, company reference, integration with our tools. BrowserStack got the highest score and the overall price was also cheaper than their competitors.

- If you want to test your website or Native mobile App on multiple devices and OS, it is a good option.
- If you want to run your test automation or the cloud, it is a good solution

Less appropriate:
- If you need to test Visual complex animation or sound automatically, it is not ready yet
- If your devices requires complex setup before starting the testing, it can be time consuming to redo it all the time since at the end of the session, the device will be reinitiate with its default setting.
