Overall Satisfaction with Canto

My organization uses Canto as a baseline DAM resource to store, organize, archive, and share assets that range from branding, imagery, source files, and video to all levels and departments. It has allowed us to increase our speed to market, track files and image usage usage with ease, and communicate available assets and branding updates efficiently.
  • Branded portals that we link to within our intranet allow employees within the organization to self-serve their branding and asset needs.
  • Quick share links allow us to fulfill assets requests efficiently.
  • Allows us to have one source of truth with files, logos, etc.
  • The overall interface can sometimes feel clunky, and it could use a modern, refreshed makeover!
  • Branded portals could use more customization options to have total freedom to build and share a branded portal experience; it can sometimes be pretty limiting.
  • The ability to have more than 1 style guide; our organization has multiple brands, and certain people work on certain brands, so we currently have all brands on 1 style guide and it can be overwhelming to find what you're looking for.
  • The way RGB color swatches appear in style guides are totally off for us, and that was after we worked closely with Canto Support to investigate solutions. Essentially, RGB swatches appear CMYK, and CMYK appear RGB...something isn't right with the final render! And yes, we triple checked our values and hex codes to problem solve that way...no dice.
  • Makes us incredibly aligned as a creative team.
  • Makes us incredibly efficient so we can deliver faster.
  • Allows us to support and assist other departments and teams easily.
Widen was incredibly difficult to search through and the organization and interface was not user friendly. AEM didn't allow more than a small handful of users, so we never got to actually use it as intended.
It works well, but has it's quirks that can be frustrating! We utilize Canto Support often when this happens.
In the past, they have been very helpful sometime response time is less than ideal.

Canto works well to share assets with internal employees, and external partners, and is a great tool for adding meta data for easy search results and adding expiration dates when working with thousands of assets for multiple brands with many agencies.

In the past we've used it as a tool to pass files back and forth and it's just not meant to do that seamlessly...yet.
