Overall Satisfaction with Celonis
We are using Celonis tool to drive analytics/process-mining across all 3 key F&A process streams - Account Receivables, Procurement to Pay, and General Accounting. Thanks to it we no longer spend time on excessive exercises such as data gathering, cleansing, and consolidation from multiple data sources/ERPs but we now focus on full-blown & wholesale analytics coming from Celonis, review of it, and improving existing algorithm working in the backend of Celonis data model. The process mining and business decisions can only be relevant and meaningful if incorporated logic is accurately representing the process and data interpretation is tested inside out. With Celonis we drive multiple projects around Paid on Time improvement, addressing low Automatch in ERP, low PO ratio, or instances of extended Turnaround times on different parties. Celonis enables benchmarking, standardizes process data, and helps to zero in on where operations could be continuously improved towards business needs and further client value creation.
- Data consolidation for multiple data sources/workflows/ERPs.
- Based on underlying logic can give lots of quick hints if proper data conditions/parameters are mapped and incorporated - useful for root cause analysis at a glance.
- Helps to speak the same language to avoid discussion on data quality if it is centrally governed and then further improved with proper business context.
- Sometimes it is extremally slow (even with small data in scope).
- It would be great to see some color-coding for upper filters not to miss some tick boxes if there are many options chosen.
- It would be great to apply Celonis logic not always to the entire data set but apply it only from a particular time (in case of major or minor Process Changes) and those new conditions should be applicable from "Day 1 onwards only" rather than "prior to Day 1 and after". It skews some metric results for past periods only cause we change their data interpretation/definition at some point [in] time.
- In my company monthly fee for Celonis license is extremely expensive - 150$ per month only to see existing dashboards with no skills or intention to run full-blown process mining.
- Paid on Time improvement (positive impact).
- Increase of Automatch ratio (by zeroing in on areas where we need to eradicate any issues which prevent ERP system to run things automatically).
- Understanding dependencies on our key metrics due to late invoice arrival from vendors.
- Understanding delays on business approvers for invoices [that] require immediate action with cash discount conditions.
Celonis is meant for process-mining thanks to real-time analysis of all issues logs and helping to understand the entire life cycle whereas PowerBI helps very quickly to visualize any static/dynamic dataset with the decent model.
Thanks to multiple projects triggered using Celonis tool we could build a business case for further Celonis development towards Action Engine with AI and other Automation components.
