Overall Satisfaction with Chartbeat

I use it for analytics. It's a valuable tool for tracking how well our audience is responding to a story, how well a headline has worked, how long people are spending reading a story, and how we might improve an article in the future. Analytics are vital to understanding our audience.
  • Live updates on story performance
  • Headline testing abilities
  • chart ranking that newsrooms can keep a constant eye on.
  • Some functionality improvements would be good
  • faster login
  • quicker response to audience reaction
  • I am
  • Not involved
  • In financial objectives
Recent coverage of a breaking news story that was shared on a live blog meant Chartbeat was an invaluable tool. By being able to see the story ranking live on our home page, we could see and make the most of engagement spikes and respond to sudden surges of interest in real time
A few functionality issues, I suppose it could be less clunky, but that really is a minor criticism, generally, once you've got your head around everything or had proper training from a colleague, it is very easy to use.
My newsdesk uses the above tools, I just use it to monitor engagement in real time.
It has a big influence. News output is always engineered to suit the current interest in a topic. If interest wanes, we can divert resources elsewhere, but if interest surges we know we need to channel our efforts into that particular story.
I haven't used any others.

Do you think Chartbeat delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Chartbeat's feature set?

Yes

Did Chartbeat live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Chartbeat go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Chartbeat again?

Yes

One particular scenario cropped up recently during coverage of a live mass football game. We ran a live blog and Chartbeat made it possible for us to see how many people were engaging with the content in real time, which made it easy for us to adapt the output to suit the size of audience, and to engineer ways to engage more people through social media.
