Overall Satisfaction with Cisco AnyConnect

The organization I work for uses the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client but in particular within this bundle of different security products we use the Cisco AnyConnect VPN and the Cisco AnyConnect Umbrella, we mainly use these two products this way: The Cisco AnyConnect VPN is for allowing our remote users to connect securely to our organization's network and as well as accessing network resources like network drives or connecting to servers. The Cisco AnyConnect Umbrella is an addition to our web security framework, it works in the background and blocks off websites that are malicious, or otherwise websites that contain adware.

Pros

  • Allows for secure remote access
  • Assist with near bullet proof web security features
  • Has a posture service that negates intrusion attempts on your endpoints

Cons

  • It constantly connects and disconnects the VPN service even when you have a stable internet connection.
  • There is no reconnection timer in the event that the VPN service disconnects.
  • The GUI of the VPN service could include more features.
  • Error messages are often vague and would need the user to research on what they mean.
  • A better remote experience for exisiting users who travel or work remotely.
  • Organization gets to expand its operations to different locations across the world.
  • An overall fluid and secure working experience resulting in high deliverables for the organization.
Using Cisco AnyConnect VPN is very easy all you need to do is click connect and you are able to begin working with the VPN secured knowing you do not have to worry about the inability to use your organization's network remotely, I have not found it difficult to use and another thing about it is you can easily integrate it to the other MFA tools.
Our organization uses the Cisco AnyConnect VPN every single time and we configure this product on every endpoint, we have also implemented MFA when using the Cisco AnyConnect VPN. Our users are constantly on the go and find themselves working remotely more frequently and in that light, they always connect to Cisco AnyConnect all the time. The experience for them is smooth and has fewer hassles, on the IT end we get to appreciate endpoint and network security being offered by Cisco AnyConnect.
We have not contacted Cisco support we basically manage this product within the organization.

Do you think Cisco AnyConnect delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Cisco AnyConnect's feature set?

Yes

Did Cisco AnyConnect live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Cisco AnyConnect go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Cisco AnyConnect again?

Yes

Cisco AnyConnect is best suited whenever you would like to work remotely and would want to connect to your organization's network securely, in this scenario I would say Cisco AnyConnect trumps a lot of products out there it is simple and easy to use once it is set up. I would not use the Cisco AnyConnect posture enforcement service as a security feature because there are very good products out there that do a better job than it.

Cisco Security

Security is paramount in any organization but to ours it is fundamental, day to day as we work together we use systems within the organization that benefit us to be able to do our work efficiently and to be able to secure these systems is very important because as users we all have different levels of understanding how these systems work and how to keep them secure.
Cisco is well known and a very reliable brand that is used across many organizations out there, it has different products that are backed by superb customer support.

The implementation of Cisco products isn't complicated to a degree as you can do it inhouse or choose to have Cisco onboard to assist with implementing their products in the organization.
I think right here, I will have to go with the reputation of Cisco.
It was chosen because it is a highly scalable application, the more users in a organization means that the application still works in a stable and efficient manner, it is fast, stable, safe and provides world class encryption too. You can also pair with other security tools like DUO MFA.
I believe AI has its advantages when combined with a certain subject, in this case, the impact of AI on cybersecurity would be immense because AI uses neural and deep learning technology to enhance a particular subject/system so you could imagine the amount of advances this could mean for cybersecurity.

Cisco Hybrid Work

  • Cisco AnyConnect
  • Cisco Umbrella
  • Working from anywhere (e.g., coffee shop, airport)
  • Working from an office or other company space
  • Working from home
I was not part of the implementation process.
The impact is has had is that we generally can work anywhere now and that since COVID a hybrid work model of being less at the office and more at home or anywhere in the world has been introduced meaning that with Cisco's hybrid work solutions we are capable of safe and secure remote work.
We have all experienced connection efficiency and stability from using Cisco's hybrid work solutions i.e. Cisco AnyConnect. While working anywhere it feels as if you are actually at the office as all the systems you would gain access into are at your finger tips because of the Cisco AnyConnect's tunnelling functionality.
I haven't used other tools beside Cisco's in this regard.

Using Cisco AnyConnect

Various business functions from VPs, Engineers, Sales, Client Support to Information Technology. The business functions of all these individuals within the organization are quite varied but they all use Cisco AnyConnect for one purpose; to be able to connect to the many systems their own departments use on a daily basis.
These people are highly technical individuals that always monitor the Cisco AnyConnect environment and if there are outages of users connecting to the Cisco AnyConnect VPN they relay that to the Information Technology team and that trickles down to the users who are informed about the outage and the possible ETA of when the outage will be resolved.
  • Connectivity to organization's intranet
  • A secured remote access environment
  • Data protection
  • Multi platform support
  • Endpoint detection and response
  • Cloud based management

None
  • Connectivity to VPN dependent systems
  • Data encryption
  • Secured remote access
Yes - Just like the desktop version the mobile interface is seamless, you are able to input your credentials and then connect to the VPN incredibly faster. I have found out that it is very stable too as it offers a constant remote connection that does not drop, the app I must say is lightweight and runs in the background without you noticing it slowing your mobile phone down.
