Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Meraki MX
I installed Cisco Meraki MX on a university campus four years ago, The campus has 40 Meraki switches and 500 Meraki Access points and works really well. Just one problem: we started the auto channel but the auto transmission power, when you have a big environment and several APs, is not easy to configure and could take 5 seconds to change the connection from AP to the other.

Before Meraki, we had other technologies and troubleshooting was really complicated. You needed to enter in every device to determine the failure. After Cisco Meraki MX with Meraki Dashboard, you can troubleshoot very easily. Other important aspects are the way you add new devices to your organization and the way you modify a rule or a configuration. You can make it without a VPN--with only a PC and connection to internet, you can access the dashboard and make the modification.
We installed Cisco Meraki MX with DNA Center and was so gratefull to see how it is working. We used 9300 like access or edge switches. We use the API to interact with our MX to automate tasks and avoid human error.
It’s very similar to Cisco ASA but there are differences in use, first and most important for me is the way you control and manage your network through Meraki Dashboard and online. You can do it in your home without a VPN. The second is that clients like banks and financial entities don’t trust Meraki because it’s a cloud platform.
