Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Meraki MX
We use Meraki MX devices for firewall purposes at HQ and four regional offices. Having the SD-WAN option is the biggest advantage because it enables me as the sysadmin to work remotely. The reliability of the Meraki products has greatly improved my networking abilities to keep the network infrastructure online.
Pros
- Reliability
- Scalability
- User interface
- Quick troubleshooting tools
Cons
- Hostname reliability during failover events
- Web UI updates
- EA support
- Business continuity
- Remote troubleshooting tools
- Network integrations within multiple locations
Onsite troubleshooting has minimized greatly since I started working with MX devices. The failover reliability has also helped meet business continuity SLAs whenever a failover event has occurred, which is also rare. The web UI also enables me to dig deep within the logs to locate and identity network devices that may be contributing to network issues.
Our organization utilizes several devices within the Meraki line to provide networking services to multiple office locations and jobsites. Being a general contractor, our jobs rely heavily on continuous network connectivity, and the Meraki line has delivered greatly.
The web UI is a game changer between the two products, plus the SD-WAN is much easier to configure and manage.
