Overall Satisfaction with D&B Hoovers

Verification of Account Data Accuracy. We belong to the Data Steward Team to ensure accuracy of the accounts created and constant updates of existing data.

Pros

  • Accurate Database
  • Ready Source of Information
  • Helps in Verification in case of doubt in data
  • They also have an active feedback mechanism to update data incase a mistake is found in the existing data

Cons

  • India Database is rather poor especially Proprietorship data
  • Some data does not match the MCA portal or the GST Website
  • D&B Hoovers has a verification process which considers many aspects not just tax id so sometimes creating a missing account could be a challenge or you could say we just go by the tax id
  • It has resulted in reduced TATs for data checking turnarounds
  • Easy Reference point for data check
Quite a lot of data reference point from a Data Management Perspective, and since they have the Duns id - it definitely helps to a very large extent.
Quite a lot of requisite contact information. We as a Data Steward rely on the sales team to update contact information and hence this feature though available in D&B Hoovers is not used much by us for this role.
Currently, we can use only one Data source which is D&B Hoovers in our case.

D&B Hoovers is best suited as it is one of the best sources of data from the options currently available. Not the best and most accurate but it helps in getting the work done.
