Overall Satisfaction with D&B Hoovers

Building prospect lists of companies in selected industry segments in selected geographies to be used by commercial teams for review and identification of new potential prospects. Commercial teams are the primary users, as the information is not deep enough for credit scoring or other applications in a identifying risk related setting, at least for our business.

The basic company data such as location, website, general contact details is okay. It however lacks an accurate company description, as many are automated based on industry SIC code. Also, more detailed fields on company profiling are missing. Not all websites are known. Not all companies are segmented into the right industry segment.
Very basic information based on key personnel and job title. It does not include a lot of buyer persona data nor custom information about a general business. The descriptions are primarily automatically generated based on their industry segment, and not tailored to the specific company. They should focus on completing empty data fields.
Zoominfo has much more rich data, longer lists of persons, and more accurate descriptions and estimation of business sizes, both in terms of revenue and personnel. However they are very focused on United States, so their coverage of other parts of the world is really limited. This is where the coverage of D&B Hoovers is much better, because it truely is a global coverage.

Great tool for building company or contact prospect lists in certain geographies (both regions and countries) and various industry segments. However additional filters on for example company revenue or a number of employees quickly reduce the list of prospects because for a large group of companies this information is missing or not accurate.
