D&B Hoovers

Overall Satisfaction with D&B Hoovers

One consistent challenge I have has been working with the assigned representatives that have been assigned to my company's account. In my experience, they have not been reliable and I have to always make a huge effort to get information conveyed to me. The software itself is fine, but it's not intuitive to report information that needs to be updated. For example, sometimes websites that do not work are accounts pages. It is not clear where to report it, and once it was found, no one followed up about the issue being resolved.

Pros

  • The date base is easy to navigate.
  • I have been able to find information on most companies.
  • I like the option to be notified by email of any changes to a company that I save.
  • There database for the most part is very robust making it easy to find most company and institutions.
  • n/a

Cons

  • Better and clear communication for the tech. dept
  • Better and clear communication from the Hoover reps for customer accounts.
  • For updates or incorrect information I notice in their database it would be nice to have a more stream line way to report and receive follow up on those updates I report.
  • It has been a big help in identifying company information and relationships between companies, so our database can be more accurate.
It's rich because it has a big selection of companies to research. I appreciate that you can search by street, city, state, county, and zip code, which are helpful to me. I also like the summary of a company that's provided in the search results. I wish there was a little more flexibility in how a search pulls results, as it seems like you have to spell out or abbreviate street directions like blvd., st., etc.
I do not use Hoovers to reach out to customers, so this doesn't apply to me. It is important however, because we rely on the contact information in Hoovers to update and confirm contact info. and relationships between companies in our database, to make sure we have the most accurate information on a company.
