Overall Satisfaction with Deputy

Used for hours tracking, clocking in, and clocking out. Then use the data for payroll.
  • Inexpensive
  • Clocking in
  • If someone misses a clock out it is way too hard to correct
  • UX/UI, in general, is really really rough - way overly complicated to pull data or complete payroll/approve hours - buttons in weird places dropdowns, integrated calendars all super confusing - obvious that the product managers are not using the system
  • Employees should be able to enter reimbursements in the system
  • Accurate hours reflected - when not in default mode
The only reason I chose is [that] it integrates with Rippling

Do you think Deputy delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Deputy's feature set?

No

Did Deputy live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Deputy go as expected?

No

Would you buy Deputy again?

No

Very difficult to use in my opinion. Hard to pull data. Very difficult to correct wrong hours. Allows employees not to clock in and out with default settings and this is very problematic.
This was a nonevent - basically just created a password - no one helped us “integrate” and honestly I don’t even use it integrated into my payroll system because it wasn’t pulling inaccurately or calculating what I needed it to calculate.
I just find it difficult to use - doesn’t integrate well for my industry/California state laws either, so I have to do a lot of additional work to figure outbreaks, etc.
