Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox
We use Dropbox to manage all the documents associated with our online certificate at a large university in the U.S. It provides a central location for our faculty & staff team to have access to all documents related to program development, marketing, website, IT, curriculum, and more. Dropbox has been vital to our team, which has many users and editors of documents, having all information in a central location wherein we're able to make progress rapidly and keep each other in the loop. I really enjoy using this product.
- updating documents across a team
- accessing documents easily
- the ordering + structure of different files makes it quite easy
- making it easier to share documents with outside users
- some security weaknesses
- Files can’t be locked for collaborative editing.
- we've been able to move up deadlines because of our collaborative work
- teamwork has allowed us to bring others in on the project to expand scope
- no real negative impact at all
I have found them to be quite similar in scope and services. I was initially much more familiar with Google Drive because it is what I used in college, and while it took some time to transition to the new service, I have found that I enjoy them both equally. Dropbox stacks up quite well in terms of functionality and services provided.
