Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Dropbox to back up my computer. My files are backed up every save to Dropbox. we as a company use it to transfer files or documents for multiple users to edit as well. We share all documentation using Dropbox as well. By using Dropbox we have eliminated saving multiple versions of the same document. We also made system back ups simple. once the account user sets up the account you do absolutely nothing to keep everything backed up. Its all behind the scenes no time wasted on updating or backing files up. Dropbox is more than user friendly it saves time and energy!

Pros and Cons

Pros

User Friendly, simple and easy to use. Anyone can make an account and use it. Just a few simple steps and the rest handles its self.
System works by itself. No reason to back up anything, once you save the documents that are chosen to save to Dropbox everytime you use those documents and hit save Dropbox backs it up for you. Set it and Forget it!!!!
No limit to what you can back up. As much or as little as you need to save.
Mutiple users can access the same files and edit them without making new versions. Its very clean and simple way to share and save multiple user documents.

Cons

When the account isn't used for an extended amount of time you lose your access. You should be able to choose if you want to deactivate the account, not have it chosen for you.

Return on Investment

Saves time and by saving time we are saving money.
Allowing mutiple users to access the same data makes production times go up.

Alternatives Considered

OneDrive, ActiveDocs and Certificate Authority Service by Google Cloud

They are not even comparable, the ease of using Dropbox alone is worth switching. The system takes care of itself no matter how many users are using it

At our company different departments have different files that need to be backed up. Some departments have documents that need to be shared and edited by multiple users. these can all be done on Dropbox. you can set a private account for backing up your computer. and then add in shared folders within your company or department for anything other users may need to use as well. instead of emailing the files back and forth then saving multiple versions. This is such a great feature. also the way it backs up in the background. When you hit save, the document is saved to the back up.
