Great solution for teammate/client secure file sharing!
Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox
We write music for film and TV productions day to day, which requires both a lot of passing media materials back and forth between ourselves and the production company. Furthermore, we also need our own music/media files to be accessible by our other remote team members so that they can work on project files that are immediately up to date.
One major issue that Dropbox solves for us is password-protected file sharing for extra security. This is a necessity oftentimes as we send protected media back and forth.
The other major positive aspect with Dropbox is its seamless integration with the team's local computer files. We utilize a software called Cubase for our music production which requires the loading of heavy audio files from an external drive that each team member has. By having Dropbox sync our project files across systems, the project file can seamlessly launch on any system and recognize the needed external drive of the same name regardless of the system.

Pros
- Password protected file sharing
- local machine syncing / constant updating
- Version history
Cons
- An easier navigation system for syncing a file earlier in the cue. At the moment, you can only view a few files from which to choose "sync next", but there would be a lot of great use for creating a cue of machine syncing to prioritize the most important files first.
- Support for Dropbox on an external drive.
- Bringing back an "Unlimited Storage" plan which doesn't require additional teammates rather than pairing 5 TB at a time with a new teammate as the only upgrade option - our company is always in need of more storage but never in need of more users.
- Dropbox has saved our creative work through its "version history" function, allowing us to circumvent possible disaster from corrupt files or unintended changes to our project
- Dropbox has allowed us to share files more securely when required by our media clients, giving everyone peace of mind.
- Dropbox has allowed our team to be far more efficient and up-to-date in terms of accessing our project's most recent files and cutting out any unnecessary checking between workers to verify the most current project files.
Dropbox has been the most reliable and most seamless when it comes to storing and mirroring files locally on every team member's machine. Other products have had issues with our system in that the files don't behave like real files locally, or it takes some time for the program to verify which files are local and which should be onlin-only.
