Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are a completely remote company with no physical locations. We use Dropbox as our internal filing system for our entities. We also have a filing system set up for each of our management services clients to store their business documents. Accounts payable and receivable and share those files with each client externally.

Microsoft Teams

The filing system that Teams is based on is confusing when outside of Teams which then forces you to use only Teams to look for a collaboration. It is tough to search for things in Teams, but their keyword search does work well, however, you really need to know part of the file name or where you saved it to find it.

It's great for remote file storage where you have a wide range of sharing restrictions within your business. But also with external clients and vendors. You can easily customize access and create various hierarchical groups, but can also restrict access to specific folders deep within the structure of the system as needed for confidentiality.
