Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Dropbox as our server system for using and accessing past and present client files. As an Art Director, I use my Dropbox app every day by accessing old files and updating and syncing new work.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Fast upload and download speeds.
Intuitive File Searching
Easy sync set-up

Cons

It is annoying that you can only open files from the desktop app. I prefer the web version because it's quick, but there's no ability to prompt files to open in the file manager like in Figma for example.
I've experienced issues trying to move and rename files from the web version that I don't encounter in the desktop version.

Return on Investment

I can't speak to this from my current role.

Google Drive pails in comparison to file searching and I find the file versioning and file linking way more intuitive on Dropbox. The overall user experience and range of capabilities seems better with Dropbox.

I'm not sure if the cost is worth it for personal use, but for my job it is incredibly useful to set up auto syncing for client files as well as more individual things like grabbing images off of my SD card to my deskop.
