Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox

I use Dropbox to store documents accessible to multiple devices, and having a backup in the Cloud. It is easier to use than Google Drive. I have given links to someone else to download a document that is too large to email. All my documents are in Dropbox.

Pros

  • It is easy to locate local files in the Mac Finder.
  • It is easy to give a link to someone who does not have Dropbox account to download a large file I need to transfer.
  • It is easy to organize files in the Finder and move files and folders around.
  • It is easy to organize files with my personal folder and file naming protocol in the way I like it.
  • I can put color labels on the files and folders.
  • I have used this for years and have been used to the features that I use. I'm sure there are other possible functions that I haven't used yet. I am happy with what I use now.
I have used this for years, and it works great with the Mac Finder system. It gives me an extra level of security and convenience in the ways I mentioned earlier. I like having the files locally and not just in the Cloud - there are days I am not able to access the Internet. It is worth the money I pay. Perhaps you call it ROI, but it is to me the cost of, not so much for doing business, but the cost of using computers in these days and age.
Ease of use, local files, works well with Mac Finder system, syncing with multiple devices, access in the Cloud when necessary. Google is a strange system for people who use Mac. Sharing files with others in Google Drive, I always worry about people with weak passwords. I only give viewing access to them just in case people mess up my files and filing system.

Do you think Dropbox delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Dropbox's feature set?

Yes

Did Dropbox live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Dropbox go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Dropbox again?

Yes

It is most appropriate for my personal storage and use as explained before. However, it may be less appropriate for working with colleagues who do not subscribe to Dropbox. Their free Dropbox account gets filled up easily. There is competition from Google Drive which many people use nowadays. I use Google Drive for working and sharing files with colleagues. But for personal files, I like to keep my own system and an extra level of security and customization.
