Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We have multiple computers and we need to have the files on all of them. Sometimes I run my code on one of the computers and evaluate the results on another computer. Another case is when I use my work PC, and the next day, I work in my home office on my laptop. My files are synchronized on all my devices.

Usability

It has some issues, but I consider Dropbox to be the best cloud service from the ones I tried. It works well in terminal and command prompt. I could install it on mac, windows and linux. I even used it on a HPC supercomputer.

Alternatives Considered

I used Google Drive and OneDrive, but they were not in the list above. Both Google Drive and OneDrive have sync issues, they are not as fast as Dropbox. Onedrive has strange naming conventions for the folders, which made it hard for me to use it from the Terminal.

Dropbox works well on some of my computers, but I have a Windows laptop that slows down when Dropbox is active. I've read a lot about this issue on the internet, and there are many other people having the very same issue.
