I love Dropbox for the reliable syncing and background speed

Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox

I use Dropbox as a back-up and SYNC of projects in real time, as well as a platform for sharing proofs and finished assets to clients.

Pros

  • Backup and SYNC on a Mac OS
  • Linked file sharing
  • File backups without corruption
  • Syncing in the background

Cons

  • I would love to use Dropbox as a DAM
  • I currently use Pics.io and wish Dropbox could SYNC directly, instead of using Google Drive
  • Ease of tagging on desktop
  • My business is small, so I can only speak for reliability and getting the most from one platform, which I mostly do from Dropbox.
  • I do have several additional expenses to maintain a DAM, which is mainly frustrating to pay for Google Drive, when Dropbox works much better and seamlessly with my workflow.
  • I would love to see Dropbox roll out a DAM function similar to Pics.io...
  • Or, I would love to see Dropbox integrate with Pics.io, with real time syncing in and out.
Usability is excellent for me, but with some of my clients there are issues accessing shared files/links.
Dropbox is the only reliable backup and SYNC, with versioning and smooth background operation on Mac OS.

As a backup and SYNC, for projects on my Mac in real time Dropbox is the best. I've used Sharefile and Google Drive and both have never worked as well as Dropbox for me.

Sharing assets to clients is easy on my end, but some have become frustrated by thinking they need to log in to see the assets, and then finding that their free account storage has filled up. This might be a generational issue, but it arises from time to time.
