Dropbox keeps me in-sync no matter where I go.

Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox

I use Dropbox to move files from one area to another on my computers, between mobile devices and to other people on my team. I use it to backup data sometimes until a more permanent method is available. And I use it to send files that are too large to email to clients.

Pros

  • Work and sync on multiple devices
  • Transfer quickly
  • Work with a lot of different kinds of files with no issue

Cons

  • More space for the money. Everyone's files are just bigger and bigger
  • I'd love to see a word processor app integrated, like Google Docs that is Dropbox specific
  • I'd love to see more Notion integration
  • It has helped me look professional in my self-started business by allowing me to exchange files and deliver finished product through link sharing.
I have had teams I've been on that had a lot of problems figuring out how to use it, especially if they use the app.
I was with Dropbox long before Google Drive, I have received files through Google Drive for download, but never used it myself as a primary means, so I really can't compare them, because Google Drive is not my thing.

It's great for syncing across devices. You can adjust how much is downloaded onto your device or computer, so smaller devices don't get overwhelmed. It's great for multiple people needed to access a file for testing or commenting.

I can't really think of any situations where it's not appropriate off the top of my head.
