Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox

I am a photographer and content creator. I use Dropbox to store, organize and hand over all of my work to the customers. It's important for me that the handover process is easy and doesn't require a lot of manual copying or dragging - with the MacOS integration, I can export and replace files in my folders easily without having to re-send links to the customers.

Pros

  • Easy link sharing for collaboration
  • MacOs integration
  • Photos feed in-app

Cons

  • Photos search in the mobile app
  • Webapp is a bit slow and clumsy
  • Opening sharing links for my customers on mobile devices without the app is a bit of a pain
  • Easy access to the content made for my clients
  • Easy collaboration within my team on folders
The core function of Dropbox - holding and sharing files is good. However, the web interface is a bit slow and hard to access for my clients without the Dropbox app on mobile. Its difficult to download full-resolution images from there and I always need to explain to them how to do it. Also, the web interface on Dropbox is a bit slow, so using the MacOS integration is the way to go. However, as I have multiple machines, its not always an option. Mobile app works much better.
I don't want to be tied in with the Google's ecosystem, as Google Drive would be the only service from them I use.

Do you think Dropbox delivers good value for the price?

No

Are you happy with Dropbox's feature set?

Yes

Did Dropbox live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Dropbox go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Dropbox again?

Yes

Dropbox is a really good storage solutions for individuals as I see - any content creator or social media professional needs that kind of a solution especially if you'r'e working with clients and are doing a lot of collaboration. If you are a big corporation though, I'd go for solutions like Google Drive, which also has a solid suite of tools like Docs, Slides and Sheets.
