Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox

I completely depend on Dropbox and Dropbox Passwords for reliable redundant backups and storage for my most important files.

Pros

  • Drag and drop transfer of files from my PC or Mac to any Dropbox folder
  • Automatic backups of both internal hard drives and external sources such as USB drives
  • Automatic syncing of photos from all my cloud based devices to Dropbox Photos
  • Easy and secure management of passwords with domain aware logins.

Cons

  • I would like to have a way to "trigger" individual file backups so I don't have to manually copy them to the exact Dropbox folder each time.
  • It would be useful to "tag" photos so they are categorized when synced with Dropbox Photos.
  • Allow for a full backup image so I can easily restore a PC or Mac when the hard drive needs to be replaced.
  • Offer lower "tier" programs for individuals who do not need much storage space, and maybe even productize Dropbox Passwords and other feature enhancements as add-ons. However, continue to offer "package" deals.

With the proper credentials and multi factor authentication, I can easily introduce the Dropbox Passwords add-in on my various browsers to quickly and easily login to various web sites and secured locations throughout my day.

I will typically create a file and store it on my local hard drive, then copy it both to a physical external storage device then finally to Dropbox. Once there, I can retrieve the file from another device such as my tablet or alternate PC for complete redundancy. I have also come to rely on Dropbox Passwords for securely retaining all my passwords and other sensitive information.
