Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are in the construction industry and use Dropbox to submit large documents (plans and specs) to subcontractors and vendors. Without Dropbox, we would have to submit multiple separate emails, due to the large size of documents we handle, and this would be too time consuming considering the number of projects we manage.

Pros

Ease to use - user friendly
Creates links that allow us to submit them on any email service provider (Outlook, Gmail, Hotmail, etc.).
Easy to access

Cons

Allow for easier viewing of what has been submitted and to who

Return on Investment

It saves us time. Without it, we would have to submit multiple emails due to the size of documents we handle

Usability

Easy to use, very practical, and from the recipients end, it is also easy to access the documents once received.

Alternatives Considered

AcroPDF

Dropbox is easier to use and allows the sharing of documents in any format (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe PDF, etc.), as opposed to AcroPDF.

It is well suited for the sharing of documents, especially large size documents that take up high number or Megabytes. It is less appropriate to keep track of who is receiving and opening the files once submitted.
