Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox

As a music producer, Dropbox has been instrumental in my ability to share files and collaborate with colleagues of mine. The fluidity of the platform and ease of use really let me have access to my sensitive data and private files wherever I go. It feels very secure, which is a big appeal to me. Honestly I can’t imagine more that they can integrate with the app that would make it better but hey, I’m open to being surprised!

Pros

  • Private file linking
  • File security
  • Shared collaborative folders

Cons

  • File gain (volume) options for file play back that isn’t necessarily the PHONE’s volume
  • Have a hidden folder that doesn’t display outright in the homepage
  • I’ve used it for years so it’s hard to pinpoint any specific number for sales in music releases. It is however, expediting the manner in which I produce music by facilitating my production process by being a great service
It’s almost perfect. File searching is the one place where I feel like it isn’t exceptionally clear as to where you’re searching for files in. You’re just given an overall “file search” section which combs across every folder you have. It might be a feature that they update later on which I’d really appreciate.
I like Google Drive’s free integration with the free emails you can make. It’s much more affordable too, but Dropbox has the edge when it comes to collaboration, in my opinion. I feel as though Google can feel a tiny bit clunky with navigating its non user friendly UI. Dropbox has everything laid out very linearly.

Do you think Dropbox delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Dropbox's feature set?

Yes

Did Dropbox live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Dropbox go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Dropbox again?

Yes

Honestly I can’t think of any specific scenarios where Dropbox has fallen short, especially in regards to collaboration. Seeing live updates to collab / shared folders is really cool. I get to see in real time when a change is made that’s really helpful. It’s a good service, albeit a tiny bit pricey so regular users may be turned off because of that.

Using Dropbox

1 - Since this is my music project, I’m the Audio producer, engineer, and essential business owner. I produce music and share my demos with management and agents, as well as use the Dropbox folders with shared permissions to collaborate with fellow artists or managers. Thus far in my decade of use it’s been nothing short of great.

Yes - It works very well. It’s smooth and very easy to use. I use it daily as an impromptu media player for listening to my music demos on the go. I like the stellar quality provided by the app and don’t really have any notes outside of wishing there was a file gain section in the info.
